There's no reason other than "splitting the player base" for a remake of Halo 2 to not have online play like it used to have. I wouldn't accept a remake of Halo 2 without online multiplayer. I'd also like to point out that Anniversary still technically did "split the player base" seeing as though you can only play Anniversary maps on the Anniversary playlists... sorry to go off-topic guys but a Halo 2 remake would be alot easier when compared to a Halo: Combat Evolved remake, correct? i remember you guys saying something about the netcode being a reason they couldn't bring Halo: Combat Evolved's multiplayer to XBOX Live. i see no reason for them not to give us Halo 2's original multiplayer unless Halo 4's fanbase is more important to them

They don't straight up lie when it comes to stuff like this. If he says they're not developing it right now, they're not developing it. Also, I know he said not at this time. This rumor specifically states that they're developing it right now. My post was me saying that it's been confirmed false by 343 Industries.

This is them making an official statement on not working on Halo 2 Anniversary.[/quote] They said "not at this time" which means that they could possibly be making it in the near future. Not to mention we have a couple of years before it actually is the anniversary of Halo 2. Plus you never know that they could be keeping it all hushed up. They know that the majority of Halo gamers want it to come out, they have heard our cries and demands, so I'll bet that they've got a small team working on it in secret.

That was BS of course, but it's even less of an excuse this time around. All my friends that i played Halo 2 with back in the day are hoping that Halo 2 will be brought back. Most of them don't have power full enough PC's to play it. I seem to recall them saying they used reach's mulitplayer for CEA for two reasons A. They didn't want to divide the community and B. because CE (for xbox) didn't have live support and they didn't want to slap sloppy netcode on it (so they say). But halo 2 had live support...so hopefully that would make a rerelease much smoother. Honestly, I'd just be happy with an live arcade release with live support. Clan support intact etc. we'll see though. Here's to hopin' Halo 4 is solid :) If they waited for the ten year anniversary that would make it a 2014 release.... and by then...if you've stopped playing Halo 4 I don't think you'd start up again.

It better include all the multiplayer maps and not just some, and hopefully a place to toggle on and off the skulls for once rather then activating the ones you want from different saves.
