My gut instinct tells me that Bungie cut loose from Halo because they have bigger ideas in mind. Something bigger and better than Halo..... if anyone is going to do it it's Bungie. Personally I am way more excited about what Bungie are up to than what 343i are doing with Halo 4.

I'm not so worried about the quality of Bungie's new game. I'm more concerned about my attention span in their new game universe. Can this new genre/universe hold my attention for 10 years like they did with Halo? Can they strike that same cord with me and my sci-fi FPS interests so I'll lap up every update, game, book etc? I know I'll buy the first game hands down, will it keep me around like Halo did? I reserve concern and judgement.

It is sad that they are skipping E3 this year, but they can still announce their new project whenever they feel it is ready to be unveiled. If it is not ready to be announced, I'm fine with that.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get even a hint of anything all year. I also wouldn't be surprised if they release their next game on the next generation of consoles, which would mean a release no earlier than 2014. I don't mind waiting. I just wan Bungie to do a good job with whatever they are doing.

Too bad. Bungie really fell off the radar a bit, and I'm really curious to see if they can pull off another "Halo". They set the bar (too?) high for themselves, but if they are indeed going to bring the MMOFPS genre into the mainstream like they did with Halo they will truely do something unique again. Thing is: without any information, and with Halo 4 looking better and better, I really can care less about what they're doing at the moment...which really is a shame.
