FIRST Medal of Honor: Warfighter GAMEPLAY Trailer (Frostbite 2)

Watch here. This was a very well done trailer. I love the looks of the game so far. It's gorgeous and the tone Danger Close is setting out for (darker, more gritty) has me excited about the campaign. Definitely getting this on PC as Frostbite 2 looks better than ever.

 •
Posted by: SEAL Sniper 9 I love the ignorance of those who play this game off as another generic shooter. Sure, there are some cliche elements to it. But, this is the real modern shooter. Call of Duty is nothing near realistic and Battlefield is pretty realistic although the campaign is all made up. The thing about Medal of Honor is that it's the most realistic and tells real tales. They consult with real Tier 1 Operators. I loved Medal of Honor 2010 and I'm sure I'm going to love Warfighter. The haters can miss out in their ignorance while I have a blast playing this game. GL to you as well.
Posted by: tha man Bull! The way I am observing EA's past couple of years I can easily tell you that they are trying to cram FPS after FPS down are throat. It's sort of like Activisions plan you see: Each odd year, IW releases their take on a war shooter that while EA throws in it's top shooter, Battlefield. While the even year is 3arc's take on the shooter while EA throws in it's second string "authentic" shooter, Medal of Honor. Its genius actually. They're doing the same same with CoD but hiding it with two different names. That being said, I am very excited about this game. I like modern day or just FPS games in general. Medal of Honor 2010 had a lot going for its campaign, it was the most fun i've had in a modern day fps. The multiplayer blew.
The Developers have been very clear in their desire to imbue the game with an authentic feel of what it's like for these guys. Call of Duty and Battlefield have never accomplished that.
Posted by: Godshatter lol, 'Warfighter'. I bet the guy who came up with that great title got a fat bonus.
Warfighter is a common callsign and term in use in the military.

 •
Posted by: The 13th Arbiter
Posted by: xMLGx Pro $60 Battlefield 3 expansion? I know EA wants that CoD crowd but damn, aren't people completely sick of the same 'terrorist global network extravaganza shooting gallery' games? Other than the fact that the game is looking good (though, very reminiscent of BF3), we all know it's going to be the typical, corridor, shoot 20 guys, corridor, shoot 20 guys, rinse and repeat formula. Considering Danger Close is working with a more serious tone than Call of Duty, I wouldn't mind the game utilizing more mature (tactical) mechanics. More limited ammo, much wider selection of weaponry, maybe squad commands? Danger Close tried to market their last MoH game as authentic, yet in reality it was just another mindless military shooter
Medal of Honor isn't geared towards the CoD crowd. That was BF3's job. It's a game telling a story that brings a level of authenticity to the table that neither BF nor CoD could. As for your gameplay suggestions, they're all off. SF guys bring a lot of ammo with them on missions, because small-unit doctrine relies on achieving fire superiority. There was a plenty wide selection of weaponry in the 2010 game. The game doesn't need a ton of weapons. Squad commands are a terrible idea and don't fit with the level of authenticity the developers are going for. First off, you aren't the squad leader. Second, the basics of firefights, CQB and the like are practiced and practiced by SOF units until they become second nature and muscle memory. There's not enough time in a firefight to talk out your units actions.
I'm surprised.

 •
Posted by: FatM "Frostbite 2" made me open this thread.
Same. Always nice to see an engine like Frostbite in action but, other than that, this game looks incredibly generic. I'm sure it's got its tweaks that make it different from CoD, but they aren't enough to get me to care. For fans of the rebooted MoH, I guess it's a welcome upgrade.
