Fanfic Contest Updated: 4/25/06
That's right everyone, we've got a new fanfic contest starting right now! Here's all the info you'll need for participation:

This contest will work differently than last time. Its still being hosted by BFO, but this time we're holding several different contests at different times. Each contest, as you will see in the rules, follows a certain theme, which is based on the prize being given out. That's right, prize.
There are prizes this time, and you'll get them for sure.
The first contest is based on the following theme: [b][i]Horror[/i][/b]
The basis of this is to write a fanfic, bungie based (which means halo, myth, oni, anything bungie), that is not just any normal story, but a horror. I want people to write things that are frightening, scary, and will make my seat wet!
And the prize for such an endeavor? A copy of [b]Doom 3[/b] for xbox. The length limit is set for 7,777 words, although that does not mean, by any means, that it should be that long. It can be 100, 1,000, or 7,777. Whatever you like, as long as it doesn't go over.

: ) Nice spart. Either way, the contest is the contest, and i wrote the rules in a hurry so that people would stop their complaining. If they want perfection, they should get into religion...hoping that people are perfect is like hoping to breathe in fresh horsie poopie and want to dive right into it.

Alright everyone, the third contest will be opening today. [url=http://www.bungiefansonline.com/index.php?act=ST&f=19&t= 1173&st=0#entry2712]Click here[/url] to read the rules for it. Remember, the Adventure theme closes on may 1st, so if you want entry to it you'd better hurry. The Horror theme closed last night with 33 entries. Pretty good for only 2 weeks of time. And because the judges will now officially start judging today, i'll be posting the judging requirements (what every judge should look for in each individual story and rank it by), both so it will be open to them and anyone who wants to see. I'm open to any suggestions that aren't posted there already, which means that you shouldn't just post something until you actually read it. Just to clarify, the prize for the new, open contest, the Stealth contest, is Perfect Dark Zero. Just letting you know. Just post your 7 page story in the adventure section, sounds like it would be a good fit. Sir Brilliant, while the Horror thread got considerable attention, I've noticed that the Adventure thread is lagging far behind. Perhaps a fresh reminder on the Bungie.net main page?

I would love to submit my story which is kinda about halo but has no master chief and is written for people who havent played halo, so its over descriptive, its about three marines, on their adventures in New Kyoto, which has strikingly similar design to new Mombassa, including the space elevator, scarab, and the cruiser, except the cruiser in my story is crashed and flood pour out of it, the ship explodes as they leave and they land in the forerunner ship, where they go as far as they can, their lonsword pilot dies and the use an escape pod to get to a human ship, which is abandoned, then they are attacked by the flood, lets just say they dont survive but the story simply moves on to different characters, is there such a genre for such a story? because the other 2 categories are pending, meaning they aint done yet. But if on of them is something that story will fit into then leave a post or put it in the weekly whats up date. And if it helps me win I can change some of the names to the Halo designers names. I love halo so I wrote that story in my spare breaks during school, its approx. 7 pages long but it can be longer, or I could end it, whatever. I would let my teacher read it for language but I'm a cociencious objector (you know, a coward)

I'm guessing you already stated this somewhere, but is it possible to win in more than one category? (I'm not asking this because I expect to win, I just don't want to post a bunch of stories when I only have the chance of winning one.)

In fact, i'll be the first to say that i'm looking forward to reading other fic's from bungie, from other games. Oni, Myth, anything at this point. Halo's good and all, but its been awhile.
