A plea to Bungie.
Hello. My username is gamerguy2002 and I'm hoping that someone can pass this topic to a bungie representative my case is a very unusual one. If this is the wrong area please excuse my ignorance and move the topic thank you.

After almost a year of hard work I've have got the Vidmaster achievements and earned my ticket for recon but i saw a flaw in all this i needed a LINKED bungie.net profile.
The problem is, i can not link it at all. For as long as i can remember i haven't been able to login to xbox.com at all to get the account linked. I asked everywhere on what my problem was Ive got hundreds of solutions and all were failures.
Finally I just broke down and decided to call XBL customer support. Under the case number "1131214355" they went through 2 hours of troubleshooting and finally after being bumped to the level 2 support i finally got a bottom line awnser to my troubles.
...The account was corrupt. Sortof.
It seems that something happened during my registration with my gamertag that caused some break to happen between my account and xbox.com. but the break was only there the winliveID was good otherwise on other sites (windowslive.com, msn.com, etc. sites that used passport/windows live login systems and instant messenger) they told me that i would have to wait a day or 2 to get an official answer about what to do (possibly recreating my whole account). I was stoked because finally i could get recon and my problem would be solved!
Today i got my awnser. XBL customer support told me their hands were tied and there wasn't anything i or they could do. they told me to just cut my losses and create and brand new account and start over again. If you ever looked at my gamertag i put ALLOT of work into it and it hurt just to tell me just to abandon the account i worked soo hard to create. I'm gamerguy2002 i don't want to be somebody else i love this account and starting over just wouldn't feel the same.
The Representative was considerate though he said if anything try pleading your case on the bungie.net forums and see if theres anything they can do...

So now you know. I don't know if this will work but I'm giving anything a shot right now the last thing i really want to do is start a new account and do all this again (including getting hard achievements from other games as well).
Down to the point:
Is there anyway Bungie can give me the recon armor regardless if i have a linked gamertag? It would really mean allot both to me and my brother who worked just as hard as i did getting the vidmasters and every achievement on there.
If theres nothing Bungie can do i understand. Right now I'm just grasping at straws I'll still be a loyal halo&bungie fan despite this situation.
As for my account, I'm not sure on what to do If this last ditch effort doesn't work out. Xbox gave me a year of XBL for the trouble but they said its up to me on whether or not i want to use it on my current or a new account. If i can get recon on GG2002 then I'll keep the account and go on with my gaming and the account still works fully just the problem is I'll never access xbox.com again. Ive got allot of thinking to do...

[/quote] The only evidence i have is my closed case support number. if bungie can call MS and look up that case number that will prove my story otherwise i really dont know how to prove this unless i record myself. But i'm sure if i did email them now it wouldn't get awnsered for at least a month or so. I doubt everybody will stop playing halo 3. after all, When Halo 3 released most people didnt leave halo 2 until the first map pack pretty sure it will end up the same way.[/quote] I don't know what else to say, except that I hope everything works out.

Ok, so here's what you can do in terms of your situation. I would suggest that you PM either the Bungie employees "Sketch", "Achronos" or "Urk". Copy paste your OP into your PM, make sure to post evidence and pictures of your case, your WLID e-mail and the Gamertag linked to the account. It is EXTREMELY important that you lay your case out in a very detailed and well thought out manner, and as said before, it truly helps if you have some form of evidence. @Surma92: I hope they think i'm telling the truth i asked XBLCS if there was anyway to verify my story so people think i'm telling the truth and the representative said "Other then giving the case support number, no sorry." I hope bungie can verify my story. @xReconAssassinX: i do have my sister's (toughnugget v2) and my instant messenger account (goku262002) there both linked and they would have no problem getting recon. but its just the trouble of getting through all those achievements again i went through allot of problems. @Geordies Soul: Thank you for the advice. i did forget that bungie is focusing all of their resources on the beta so i will take your advice and wait a full month before bumping this back up. @dmbfan09: I know what your talking about this was one of the troubleshooting tips. When i tried to change the WLID through the xbox i get this message: [url=http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/4701/dscn2866.jpg]Pic[/url] It looks like a common error but this error shows up every time.

This is sad. The problem is that bungie doesnt have any reason to think that you are telling the truth, and with the beta they really dont have any time to call ms to verify your story, though if they do im sure they would get you your recon. Atleast i hope so. I know i'd do.

You're not the typical person that comes here and says stuff like "[i]OMG bungie fix ur website cuz it wont let me haz mah reconz! give it to meh NAO![/i]" If you were going to get banned, you would've got banned by now, or at least your Thread would've been locked. You could just make a secondary Account just so you can obtain the Armor, but that's the best info I can give you.

If you really want Recon armor that bad, you can create a new WLID and attach your gamertag to it by following [url=http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=15044699]this thread[/url]. Then, you can create an alternate Bungie.net account using the new WLID and link them to unlock your Recon armor. In this scenario, you'd still be able to use "gamerguy2002" as your gamertag and "gamerguy2002" as your Bungie.net account, they just won't be linked together.

I decided to use the 1 year gold on GG2002. i've been through too much with that account to just give it up. Call me dumb, but i just cant let that account go. Its not just recon anymore. I cant pertisipate as much as i could here now that i cant link my gamertag to my bungie.net profile. My brother is pretty bummed. Annual was a real pain for him and he thinks it was all a waste of time now. at least the year gold will keep his mind off it.
