Not saying Bungie would ever have the time or interest in re-writing all of that codec stuff, so that this could be a possibility or anything - I'm just saying I would spend 400-1200 ms points on a Halo 2 Multiplayer Arcade release.

I had this idea a while ago. Hopefully, the only thing they'll change is improving voice. Halo 2 just wouldn't feel like Halo 2 with good graphics.
-
That would be awesome. :D
-
Great idea! :D Halo 2 was in my opinion better than Halo 3, with less noobs, less little kids, and better maps. (And super jumps are beast) I think they should do one, and make it 1200M$ and 400M$ for the extra maps (if they're not already with the game) Hell, i'd spend $20 for Halo 2 Arcade :)

Halo is obviously the Xbox's mascot. I wouldn't be surprised if this happened.
-
Thought the exact same thing! I would get it!
-
Even if it did take a year or so I'd be willing to wait. This is an amazing idea.
-
It would have to wait a while, just to stem off the idea that MS pulled the plug to do exactly this. But hey, I wouldn't mind. [Edited on 04.14.2010 3:30 PM PDT]

Agreed And Supported!

this needs to happen

Just get halo 2 pc. Custom maps, achivements, dedicated servers (no more bad matchmaking types), and HD graphics.

Now that they're pulling the plug I think we can expect a port within a year or so.
As much as I'd like a port, it probably will never happen. Not enough people care to make it worth the effort.
You're probably right, but if they combined Halo 1/2, added achievements and a few avatar awards it would sell like wildfire. I heard the God of War jumpo pack sold pretty well, so maybe Microsoft will just "Borrow" an idea or two.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

I am so for this idea. I have been thinking this exact same thing to myself since the day they announced they were pulling the plug.
-
I've said before I wouldn't be at all surprised if MS fished it out to an outside developer. Heck, I suspect that if they pulled the netcode from Halo 2 Vista quite a bit of it would plug in... Stick some achievements in and boom, nearly free money. Obviously an HD remake would be super awesome, but that's a much bigger investment.
