[/de-save thread]

I know that for the most part this would be pretty useless and be more complex and more work than it'd be worth, but am I the only one that would like to see on a saved thread an option to "de-save" it in place of the current [/thread saved]? Short, sweet, and to the point.

 •
Posted by: YahwehFreak4evr
Posted by: Index I don't think it's often that people are going to accidentally click the "Save Thread" button or immediately have their opinions changed on the significance of the thread they just saved and then want to undo their action. If such a situation does occur, there's a page for viewing your bookmarks and removing your bookmarks, as most of you know.
Well when I put this thread out there I wasn't thinking about that really, but more on those threads that one saves to read later. I know personally I find myself saving threads plenty of times just so I can read it later if it interests me. *shrugs shoulders* And the purpose of putting an [/un-save] button there wouldn't be to navigate away, but rather just to "un-save" it without having to go to your profile page, going to your saved threads tab, searching for the thread (sometimes through pages) and then deleting it. And yes Paul, it'd be un-save. Blame my own idiocy. >_<
Un-save sounds fine. Or [Remove From Saved Threads], but don't you think that's a little much?

 •
Posted by: HALO3syourdaddy
Posted by: Duardo I know it's inconvenient to go into your profile and delete threads from there...so I agree to this idea somewhat. On another hand I think everyone is lazy :P
Pretty much exactly what I was going to say lol, its not really that big of a hassle to go delete it, but then again it would be nice to have =P... the lazy is spreading.
Do you understand the concept of internet time vs real time? It takes approximately five seconds for an email to be sent and received by someone else on the internet. But in real life, mail takes about a week. So five seconds of internet time is equivalent to a week of my life. Navigating to my profile and doing this is probably about five internet seconds. Do you really think I have weeks of my life to just throw away? The math is irrefutable. Don't even try.

 •
Posted by: ApocalypeX Good idea, saves time when you click save thread instead of forums topics by accident.
Click the banner instead then. It is the same button only a -blam!- ton bigger.

If such a situation does occur, there's a page for viewing your bookmarks and removing your bookmarks, as most of you know. We already have the feature for undoing your bookmarks, and implementing an easier route just because it would be of convenience to a minority of members by a few less clicks is a little selfish. With what I just said, that definitely doesn't mean that it wouldn't be of convenience to me, I just don't think it's a necessity. I realize that the Internet will stop at none to try and make everything as convenient as possible. The evidence is everywhere. •
Posted by: burritosenior I wish. I've clicked that button on accident numerous times.
I don't see how people manage this. I've never (touch wood) pressed saved thread by accident. Why not instead of clicking "Back to Forum Index" just click the banner? I personally don't really feel this feature is needed but seeing as many people report they've pressed in many times without meaning to I guess it couldn't hurt to implement it.

On another hand I think everyone is lazy :P
Your lazy! You created an entire thread about member titles just so you could link it and wouldn't have to explain it. Oh, btw It's 4th of july, so pardon my inebriated opinion.

 • Is there something in the thread that would make you want to unsave it? Like "wow this thread is pretty legendary" then a few posts later "where has this thread gone? it doesn't appeal to me anymore."

 • Yes, I agree. Many a times I have accidentally saved a thread, and have found the added inconvenience of going into the saved threads manager an annoyance. But there's something that annoys me far more, for some reason. Wouldn't it be 'un-save' instead of 'de-save'?

 •
Posted by: burritosenior I wish. I've clicked that button on accident numerous times.
This. It'd be handy to be able to "un-save" a thread while you're in there. Still, I guess it's not that bad to go to your saved threads and delete it.

 • I would like this a lot. It would be much simpler, and it would keep me from going to my profile, loading the "Saved Threads" page, and checking & deleting all of the ones I no longer need. Good thought.
