The reason Halo 2 is like it just so happens to be, a game based around the luck of the player's spawn points in relation to the so-called "power weapons", is because it is based around the laws of physics. The game behaves exactly as it would if it were implemented in a real-life battlefield, with certain guns having certain advantages over the weaker ones, as well as specific disadvantages in specific circumstances. There are those who complain that the gameplay is unbalanced; that the outcome of all games is determined by the efficiency at which players can obtain, and hitherto implement, as many power weapons as possible. Is this not how the events would conspire in a true-to-life scenario? Why should they not? One of the main reasons for the conception of Bungie Studios was to create games that were, primarily, different. Halo 2 is just that. Different. No other video game in history has generated billions of dollars in revenue, and brought thousands of gamers from around the world together to experience a common medium. So, as some people say that, like many other first-person shooters, H2 should be more balanced, remember this: the game is simply fufilling its role as something different, floating above a sea of nearly identical competitors.
