Right now 5500 people is joining up in the worlds largest lan-party right here in my home town in Norway. They play games, make video-demos and have fun by staying up so long that they fall asleep on their keyboard. The console gamers join too. Playing Halo, Halo 2 and other great multiplayergames in large xbox lans. Every person brings his own equipment such as his/hers; pc, xbox, tv, good sitting chair and lots of drink and food. They use an olympic stadium that was used for the 1994 Lillehammer winter olympic games; the viking ship. It's a huge indoor iceskating stadium. They have their own cafe, cinema, showers ect. Every year there are different tournaments with a quite fair first price. Game tournaments in Cs, halo, doom3 and many other games. I have been there a couple of years, but this easter i had to work and I could'nt join. Its a great experience and it's not too expencive. Instead of joining this year I held a xbox lan-party at my apartment. We had 4 xboxes and 4 large tvs. A the most we were 10 plyers divided on the 4 tvs. Ok, we had to split the screen up into 3 at the most, but it was fun as hell. No cheating, we played only on the maps and with the gametypes we wanted and NO LAG. Sure LIVE is great, but lans have something special about them. We played for 10 hours straight.
So is you have nothing to do next easter, come to Norway and join us in the worlds largest gaming and computer-event. You'll have a kick-ass time. I promise.
