E3 Announcement Shelved, For Now
No Internet, yanking the countdown timer yesterday was not a joke. We wish it was, though.

We will see this game very soon my friends, I'm guessing PAX 08 (August 29-31)- Microsoft's Don Mattrick says - … to help trim its E3 presentation to under 90 minutes, from 2 1/2 hours, to accommodate attention-challenged reporters. “We had an embarrassment of riches,” Mattrick said. “We felt we could do this game more justice with a more dedicated event.” So don't worry about that rumor of people saying, "The game was so bad Microsoft wouldn't let Bungie show it". Infact, it seems to be the opposite. It looks like Microsoft was so happy with it, instead of cramming it into the Press Confrence, they want to announce it somewhere else to give Bungie more time to show it off. it's a real shame that the new project reveal was pulled, It must be just as frustrating for you guys though I can appreciate that especially as now ur an independent company, to be bossed around by your publisher Cough microsoft cough!, I feel bad also for the designers and artist who spent time and hard work setting up the site for the big reveal. Also, Lukems confirmed Microsoft is the publicher on the NeoGAF forums.

I sleep now. Wake me when I can has new game announcement or a decent update. NNNOooooo . . . I wake screaming to the sound of Maniacal Superintendent laughter . . . He is suffocating me with his plunger and sayz no Mythic Maps or new games for Hamz. Expect Delays? . . . . Expect my preferred player rating to dip significantly as I play to "punished" all I can cross . . . . until I can fall back asleep to the sounds of their screams, protests, and terror to match my own. -Ham P.S. ok, so the way that I am seeing things, that is, in the middle of the storm and without hindsight, there are two possibilites: This is still part of Bungie's ad campaign to promote the game and build tension, which I really reallllllllllly super hope to be the case, but also find amazingly unlikely, if also slightly underhanded... or MS shelved the announcement because they wanted to focus on their first-party developers at E3 and felt that Bungie would steal the show. IF this is found to be the case, I will never forgive MS for this act of selfishness and betrayal (towards Bungie), and I will refuse to buy GoW 2 and I urge everyone else who is upset by this BS to do the same. see, I have a strange idea in my head that when a game developer makes a game so great that thousands of people buy your $400 console just to play (which I did, its the only reason that I bought a 360 over a PS3- H3 came out before MGS4), you should acquiesce to whatever those people want, and make them your first priority in your list of games, NOT backstab them for your temporary gains and to insure that you yourselves are financially secure in the future video game economic environment. I will never forget how little loyalty MS has towards those who put them where they are, and I refuse to be a customer of their's anymore than I have to be (XBL subscription so I can play H3 for instance). also, to Bungie, I do not blame you for any of this misadventure, and I appreciate the effort that you put into this to make it something more than your fans' watching a 2 minute advertisement on television. it is a gift, and even if the end product got a bit screwy, it is truly the thought that counts in this case. This (type of) event is what makes Bungie a game studio that I am proud of calling myself a fan of, even though sometimes they get on my nerves a little bit occasionally (no podcasts, the latest weekly updates >.<). on the other hand, I have to wonder why you grovel for your publisher so, when it is you who does the hard part of the process of making a new game for your fans, not them. if you are an independent publisher now, then show it (although it is likely possible that legal restrictions bound you this time). Other than that I love Bungie, I just came back from a Halo: CE AND H3 LAN party at my friends house (see? they CAN be enjoyed together!), and it is a unique experience that no other video game or studio offers, and I know that you guys don't get enough thanks so THANK YOU BUNGIE!

Its ok Bungie. I forgive you. Can't say I am not disappointed...But....Its not your fault...From what you have told us..You made a ViDoc bout this and also a Podcast? All ruined by Microsoft... Do you guys really have to listen to them...Can't you reveal the game off the site or something? In any case, looking forward to the announcement and I will always support you guys!

i was really looking forward to this. i wonder if MS is laughing at us while they swim in their pools of money and eat chocolate bars made of gold. and when you say, "for now" your not exactly clear. but the hype was so high. i can say.
