why name it the 7th column?
how come bungie decided to name their club thing after something Winston Churchill made up to scare us Brits
?
the history of it is a bit like this... to muster support and general 'togetherness' in britain during the second world war churchil made sum propaganda... he told us that the 7th column was a secret -blam!- spy organization operating in britain. I personally dont mind, but apparently for the older folk its a bit of a dark subject to talk of the 7th column.
anyway, wot do u think? were bungie concious of this? or does it just sound cool?

the name of this seventh column was thought of by 'the powers that be' *cowers*, and is probrably a subliminal message. i have always made the connection between 7th column and 7th heaven, perhaps it was the seventh attempt at making the column, plus the column is like a pillar, that holds things up (our community) the number 7 is the secret dark number, and once you know the truth about it you will truly be enlightenened and humbled.

After the first 6 columns failed, Bungie finally started work on the 7th Column. But knowing religion wasn’t a good mask, they just went for Neo Military organization, which to this day, could well defend Bill Gatte’s country if he choose to buy one. (Do not take my word as anything official)

Hmm, also in a book by Orison Scott Card that I had to read for english class (oh joy). In it the royal palace was the septagon, and there were a few more parellels/strange coincidences that you could find between the 7C and the book. Also, was the 7C named for the Septagon, or the Septagon for the 7C? After all, 7 is Sept in uhh... some old language... latin? It's the whole Tri Quad Pent Hex Sept Oct and I don't know the rest.

7 is also the perfect number, I forget why though. My mythology/English teacher told me and I forgot. But through out litature, 7 has always represented power.

The movie Se7en... havent seen it, but i was told that it was genius though disgusting. Or as been stated by Yoozel, the "aura" of the number 7, to point out at the succesion, our victory and achieving our primary goal...
