So I just got this, and I was wondering what I should expect.
Yes, this was my first HM attempt. You may laugh about it in private.

Its OK but like all pulse rifles except red death it needs higher impact.
-
Fast ROF plus a stability increase. It has decent enough impact. It will defiantly be a PvP breaker
-
Not bad. Pretty good for a Pulse.
-
It's good for a pulse rifle, definitely catered to Crota's End. The only problem here is that pulse rifles in general are weak.
-
Pulse rifles need buffed bad
-
not a fan. but i absolutely refuse to dismantle anything that i get from the hard raid. that crap is earned.

As I said in reply to a similar post a few days ago, I like it. Yes pulse rifles are slightly weaker than some primaries but they do suit some peoples' play style. To those who moan about fate bringer being better etc etc remember this game has random loot. Not everyone has the same weapons as you. I don't have ghorn, fate bringer and many other guns, and only got icebreaker because Xur just sold it. Despite playing since launch (and alpha / beta). You need to look at each gun in isolation. 331 arc primary with high rof, full auto and big mag, good range and very accurate. It's a good gun. Especially on arc burn nightfall like this week just gone. Like most other guns in this game, it's situational, but used effectively it is a very good gun. My advice, unlock all the upgrades but don't spend any radiant energies on it until you've used it a bit.

If it had a bit more impact I would use energies on it but as it is... nah.

I like it. Maxed it out the day I got it and was using it a lot to get comfortable with it. Then I got the fang of ir yut and that gun is enormously better. So now oe is collecting dust.

Edited by MisterNguyen951: 1/26/2015 7:37:10 AMCongrats on your find. My Oversoul Edict is maxed out, and it's currently sitting in my vault collecting dust. Like any other pulse rifles that have high rates of fire but low impact, the OE is a mediocre weapon, even with the full auto perk. This weapon has no use in any part of the raid; you're better off with the Fatebringer for the abyss. The second perk is quite nice for patrols and strikes, as it allows you to penetrate through the Hive Knights' pesky wall of darkness. The gun's egregious impact, however, nullifies the perk's effectiveness against level 33 Knights of the hard mode raid. With this weapon at 331 attack, you'll be dealing 95 critical damage per bullet against level 33 Hive Majors. Even with the Hive Disruptor mark unlocked, I felt like I was shooting airsoft pellets at those bastards. I recently gave this weapon a shot in the Crucible, and it's quite alright. But I don't recommend it for PvP.
