Three things that you want from Halo 2 to be in Halo 4

Topic: What are three things you would want from Halo 2 to return in Halo 4? TL;DR In Halo 4, I would like to see dual wielding, a return to the clan system, and a similar skill system to Halo 2. 1. Skill system: I think the slow system Halo 2 implemented was more reflective of skill than Halo 3. The problem with level jumping as seen in Halo 3 is something that lowered the visible skill gap and created a bunching from ranks 40-45. However, I would prefer high ranks from 50 down to be denoted by their skill number rather than emblems. Also, a return to the exp bar would be beneficial because it allowed for a player to know where they stood as far as leveling up/down. 2. Clans: I think that Clans should be brought back, and added with its own unique ranking system. Perhaps you could choose the best four players to represent your clan and then the skill level of the rest of your clan would be averaged. Your top players as well as the average for the rest of the clan would then aggregate to an overall rating that determines your clan's rank. 3. Dual wielding*: *The reason I originally removed this was because I think they already confirmed no dual wielding. I was not a big fan of it in multiplayer, but it would be fun as an option during campaign. [Edited on 04.22.2012 5:45 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: MisguidedDrake4 Yeah but think of Halo 3 in its prime. 6 or so ranked playlists, 6 or so social regulars, with special holiday/seasonal playlists in there, with double xp weekends and playlists that came and went and came again. You could always find a match with people your skill level and if you missed a certain playlist, something similar would always come around so you could play it then. Maybe 6 ranked and 8 social at a time, but keep it new and fresh.
I can get having seasonal playlists as special but I know for a fact I'd rather have the amount of choices Reach offers. After all, it only has 3 more playlists than Halo 3 does at the moment. In fact, if you didn't include all the DLC (For 3 and Reach) you'd end up with Reach having one less playlist for competitive multiplayer than Halo 3 does. The reason there are so many is do to Anniversary. (3 whole playlists just for that DLC) What would be much better than that system would be to have ranked playlists. Things like Team Slayer, MLG, Team Objective, Lone Wolves, Team Snipers, and Squad Slayer/Battle. Then, instead of having social playlists, you have a custom server browser where people could either create custom P2P games or pay to rent a dedicated server from Microsoft. Here's a sort of pitch for that: Hate all the playlist 343 has? Have a clan/community that you want to play with without having to worry about organized game nights? Want to be able to get online matches with custom content from organizations like MLG and GrifballHub without having to wait for 343/Microsoft to add it in through an update? Do you want to host your own games; where it's easy for other players to find you where you have completely control? A custom games browser is the thing you're looking for! How do you like it? Microsoft would love it because I included them making money off it. Hardcore gamers love it because they can finally have a pure competitive arena customized to their opinions in an environment they can completely control. Casual players love it because they can make a game where everyone spawns with rockets and a jetpack. Everybody a winner! [Edited on 04.17.2012 10:29 PM PDT]
