An interesting loot drop experience for two of my characters from hard Crota
So with my first character, we went for hard right away at start time. I did not complete normal on that character prior to completing it on hard. My drop: shader and materials. My second character finally got through hard today as well, but I completed normal prior to going into the hard crota fight. My drop: word of crota, shader, suros regime. So what that tells me is, there is no benefit to completing crota on hard first when it comes to just killing crota. Obviously the rest of the raid is different. So what i am gong to do from now on is just complete the whole raid up until crota on hard, then just kill crota on normal and then kill him on hard. Anyone else have an experience like this?

3 RepliesSo normal mode has its own loot table that can drop and hard has its own. If you do normal first you'll get loot from normal obviously but if you do hard first then you have a chance of getting hard modes loot and normal modes loot is added in. Its better to do normal first and then hard because it removes normal loot from hard mode and you'll have a better chance of getting hard mode loot. I beat crota on normal with one titan and my warlock, did it on hard and both of them got word of crota and the shader. My second titan hadn't beat crota on normal and I didn't on hard first, my rewards were shards and the helmet.

it was still 1 drop the extoic was a freebee, you got a great roll...... If you did it without doing normal you had a chance to get 2 legendary weapons and 1 or 2 exotics.
