(Edit at the bottom)
Open discussion:
The whole goal is to discuss strategies. The gun is so new, I want to share ways to utilize the gun. Having some issues with it....
I am using it and liking it a ton. still trying to find a use for target mark. Right now the faster reload seems superior.
The target mark IS special since no gun has ever had anything like this, but the "mark" is not that significant.
Couple questions:
Where do you find use with this?
Do you use it over spray and play?
Edit: Got some nice replies.
I just want this gun to "mean something" if that makes any sense. It only drops at the Cora checkpoint. You must beat crota on hard to earn it. I do not want it to be looked at as " The Arc Vision of Confluence"
These raid guns are special. From the vision, fatebringer, Vex, all the way to this raid.
Several people are saying they would like to see some sort of buff to the gun. Have the duration longer and/or bigger for the mark. Or mark multiple targets . Here are some ideas we have come up with for the mark:
1) On Swordbearers ( middle strategy)
2) Crucible: To mark long range enemies that hid behind cover, only to finish them with a armor piercing round from a sniper.
3) Wizards that hide in the darkness
4)Thrall cave knights and Ogres
5) See use, looking forward into the next raid, "House of Wolves"

I just saw how much field about gives you. I do not have it yet. I may change my mind on spray and play when I get it
-
Does target mark show to your teammates too? If not then it would be completely useless. It seems like a team play perk specifically. Would be extremely helpful in pvp.
-
I got I like spray and play

Edited by Like30000ninjas: 1/25/2015 6:01:20 PMAnother use in PVP: When you mark a guy and have to duck to cover, when you pop out again you can finish HIM off, instead of putting rounds into his buddy that is now standing next to him. -- favorite use in PVP. Also, w/ 27 rounds I can't see the need for snp
-
I use it simply since the gun reloads quickly enough already and has 27 bullets, so I don't reach 0 often before I manually reload.
-
The fang is going to -blam!- in arc burn. Those days of hati arc burn are over. My set up will be nasty. Fang Raid fusion rifle Thunderlord. Good night strike boss! Also for stealth vandals or captains would be nice to target markers for snipers or rocket launchers.

Edited by MxE G A T R O N: 1/25/2015 9:09:51 AMI have it. Not sure if I'd use it over fatebringer in any circumstance. And I would hardly use fatebringer over woc. Until how comes out
-
I almost think Bungie added it to find those pesky wizards and sword bearers. They move too damn much
-
You know when you die (not like it ever happens) and the thing that shot you is highlighted orangeish red and can be seen through walls that is what the Mark should be make it last about 10 seconds and not stackable so you'd have to hit the enemy again after the 10 seconds is up
-
Dude bungie always plans ahead. Target mark will be for HoW raid with invincible vandals/swordsmen everywhere
-
You can highlight invisible enemies on HoW That's what I'm looking for.
-
I thought the mark would like outline them in a thick red and see through. Would probably bring back scouts in PvP. But its a little green light...
-
In Crucible: Tag enemy with Fang of Ir Yut. Enemy Hides behind wall. See beam above enemy cover. Shoot them through wall with LDR 5001.
-
This will get a buff. The perks are useless.
-
I like it for marking swordbearers it makes it easy to keep track of them
-
Boomers, ogres, swordbearers
-
Does this only drop off Crota?
-
Useful for sword bearer, I'm thinking with the arc damage and tracking this gun will be useful in the HoW raid where you may encounter a dark area with those invisible basta*rd fallen sniper enemies and can't see them! Just a thought plus I love the radar while aiming

Edited by SquattingTurtle: 1/25/2015 8:01:14 AMI don't understand perks that rewards you for not reloading in a smart manner. I love the gun, and the name. But the perks are really meh. Of course its nice that the gun has a new perk that looks really cool! but i would have thought it woul;d make a buff "Allies who hit the marked target do 15% more damage to it!" To reward teamwork, then again that might be OP for a legendary gun, but it IS a raid weapon from Hard. I don't know. All that said, it's definitely my favorite weapon of choice for the moment.
-
Think ahead for next raid. Arc damage destroys fallen shields and theres bound to be invisible dudes... marking them could prove invaluable
-
I usually use it durning nightfalls(obviously with arc burn) and thrall cave.
-
The Tag might be good for PVP, but Ill take faster reload over that perk during PvE. I love the Fang, its a great weapon and my primary for my titan.
-
It's great In crucible. 10/10
-
I'll probably use it when the Arc damage will be needed, but the defiant performs better so far and I will be using that mainly. Fang of Ir Yut just has to many pvp perks but it will still be usefull in certain situations. Also invisible enemies are easy to spot anyways. Hopefully they will fix the mark and make it more like how the mark is on the Thorn.
-
Will be great for next raid for captains and invis enemies
