BEST Ogre Strategy for Crota Fight
My team has what we think is the best Ogre strategy during the Crota fight. No one comes close to dying, and the Ogre's are down in a matter of seconds. We used the 3-sword strategy to play it safe, so for those doing the same, you may find this quite useful. Explanation is below. For visual learners, the video is above and the Ogre's are at the 3:55 minute mark.
Strategy: After the second sword against Crota is complete, the entire team goes down into the basement of one of the Boomer towers--we like to go right (facing Crota). Make sure to not take the bridge because the boomers will shoot you. Take the ground route. Once the team is in, everyone get to higher ground. The first Ogre will pop in the room. Spam him/her with heavy ammo and grenades. Once that Ogre is down, go to the front door of the room and you'll see the other Ogre making his/her way to the middle area. Spam that Ogre with heavy and grenades. It should take roughly one minute to execute this. Exit the room once Crota moves back to the center, and viola, you're on your last sword to beating Crota.

My team splits in half and kills them simultaneously. It's safer than to risk one Ogre getting free.

Edited by Frost: 1/26/2015 4:25:47 PMWe have done it multiple ways. From the platform, the right side and both boomer towers. They all work. I think splitting 3 in each tower ensures the left ogre doesnt make it to the middle(he has made it past us).

4 RepliesWe tried this, but we kept getting thralls hacking at us through the glass when we returned to our normal positions at the middle, Are you supposed to run back to the crystal and wait for Crota to move again Or what and kill the thralls in the meantime?

2 RepliesThat's exactly how I do it with the groups I end up with. I explain it to them, and they think I'm crazy. We try it, and voila, we've beaten Crota twice in less than 30 minutes.

3 RepliesQuestion: how come Crota doesn't sword slam you when you're hitting him while he's still standing and your team is firing rockets at him? Do the rockets confuse him?

Our strategy for Ogres was, have one guy inside the wizard room glass window and that atracts the ogres, then 2 titans run out from left side and put bubbles up near the ledge and shoot rockets at ogres then run back inside. Did this the first time and i beat raid with a group of randoms.

2 RepliesThat's definitely the best strat but my team only does that if we mess up on triple downing crota. 2 triple downs with 3 slams per down is the overall best strategy imo.
