Gjallarhorn next week?
Gjallarhorn is the most know heavy in the game. People are saying that it should be sold by xur and other people disagree saying that one has to find their Gjallarhorn through "hardcore grinding"... What is your take on it? Do you think that there should be ways that Gjallarhorn could be earned?

1 ReplyI see we are doing the whole "earn it" thing again. I think most of us agreed that an item purchased from Xur is more "earnt" than obtaining one as a random drop. AFKing for a whole round of Crucible and getting G'horn is NOT earning it. Completing Weekly strikes to get strange coins IS earning something.

2 RepliesI spent a lot of time actually trying to get it. I finally did too! Kept running nightfalls, weekly, Vog, and CE. Got it out of the exotic chest in VOG.

4 RepliesWhat do you think i gonna happen when you get ghorn? I got my first last week after 700 hours. I maxed it out in one day and had a shit load of fun with it. A couple days after i kinda jus sighed thinking wtf is there to do now. I hope for your sake you dont get it so there is still a reason for you to play this game.

6 RepliesGhally is not in the loot table anymore. The only way they can do it is if this gun you so called demand shouldn't be noticed anymore. Then the high demand wouldn't be so efficient to not showing up in his rotation. They control xur. No matter what. It's not rng.

He should just sell it so everyone will stfu about this weapon. For those of you who say you earned it, drops are random and anyone (noobs included) can be lucky and have it drop regardless of the amount of time played.

4 RepliesI say he should sell it all the time but it should cost 100 strange coins. Then it will truly feel earned. To think about it, he should have a full inventory of all exotic and have hight prices for more sought after items i.e. "Icebreaker, gjallahorn, soros regime.

So I have the weapon. I think Xur should sell it. I will be incredibly shocked if he does. If he sells a heavy this week, my money is on dragon's breath.

There's no such thing as "earning" a weapon in Destiny through a drop...except Raid weapons. It's a RNG system (supposedly) so some people can and have gotten it after playing 100 hours and there's people with 1000+ hours that still don't have it. Technically the only way you can "earn" anything in the game is by doing an activity in which you consistently get rewarded something. So earning coins by doing the weekly heroics, which consistently drop the same amount of coins every week, and then buying something wth those coins is technically earning whatever you buy. Just like working for a paycheck and buying a car is earning it. Anyone that says the earned a Gjallarhorn is full of it, unless they bought it when Xur sold it in week 2 or 3...or whenever that was. Quick real life example to prove my point....I got 2 Gjallahorns in 3 days (last week), and have gotten 7 total after playing approximately 900 hours or so. I have a friend who has one in about 600 hours of gameplay, and then I have another friend who has never gotten any gjallahorns in 900+ hours. It's random.....period. As for the topic of this discussion. ...I think Xur should sell it. I think everyone shoild get a chance to own it. But make it cost 27 coins...what it would take to do 3 weekly heroic strikes. That way people really can "earn" it. Honestly it probably shouldve been an exotic bounty weapon or a Raid weapon that you got from beating Atheon or Crota on hard.

Doesn't matter to me how a person gets it. How this person aquired this or that has zero bearing on how I play games or how I perform. There are people that don't want it sold because their selfish and naieve enough to believe they 'earned' it and their are those who have been playing a month and think they're entitled to all exotics immediatly. I also wouldn't mind if bungie removed it from the game completely so we didn't have to see the moanfest that is Friday when xur didn't sell it.
