The problem is the writers put all their effort into building the world and the lore, a good setting for a story minus the story. The reason I think it's forgivable is because they set up an excellent base for writing the story for future games. Was the story crap? Yes. But does the lore in place give me high hopes for future stories? Also yes.

Edited by Bushido: 1/23/2015 3:00:50 AMIt's a 10-year plan agreement. Did you find out everything about Halo in its first game? No.

Meh, honestly if the story they promised was 100 then the one we got was 10, that is a looooong way to improve in future games. And they should have gotten it the first time. When you stumble out of the starting gate like that with a franchise that's main selling point was some epic sci-fi story, the prospect of it getting better later is both slim, and kind of irritating, because again, you should not have needed to try again next game.

I disagree. It is not forgivable. This should have been the next best space opera since mass effect.

One reason the story is so bad is because bungie's main writer left in the middle of making it

Ok think about it like this. When you beat cod story it becomes a strictly multiplayer game. No one does the campaign over and over. Now destiny they had to make to where you could do lots of shorter missions in order to keep the grind going. I love the fact that im not strictly crucible like how i would be in cod or battlefield

I'm just hoping

No, Joe Staten left for Game of Thrones (I think, he def left). Bungie couldn't continue his story so they scrapped it and gave us this piece o shit.

The is no I don't agree option

I havent given up on Destiny's story just yet. I agree that the lore keeps it up for now, the lore is fantastic and makes the Destiny universe so intriguing. I'm only bothered by how this first chapter is so poor. But I understand that with the lead writer leaving bungie a year before release, the developers had to change things around and couldn't redo an entire story within such a small amount of time, that makes me forgive bungie for that at least. I'm very hopeful that the first Comet expansion or even House of Wolves will finally expand the current story, if it's a good story, we'll just have to wait and see. I'm sure it will though.
