Before I start, I would like to add that I am a hardcore Destiny gamer. I bought the white PS4 and played Destiny for two straight days when the game came out. I am currently in the top 1% of hours played, so know that this post is not coming from someone who spends very little time on the game but wants to bitch that they don't get everything they want. Like a lot of gamers who are frustrated by random loot, I find myself unable to get a few guns that are essential for my play style. The random loot system is rewarding in some ways but terrible in others. During the Nightfall today, I watched my roommate get a Hawkmoon for the second time, while I got an LDR sniper rifle that was already in my inventory. Aside from personal frustration, it has become clear to me that a completely random system does stuff like this all the time. It always goes both ways though. I have gotten three Thunderlord drops, and I'm sure that there are plenty of people who want a Thunderlord. But my overall point is this: exotic drops are so ridiculously rare that it completely ruins a drop when you get a gun you already have. My roommate doesn't use the Hawkmoon at all and will not use a second one. Aside from the fact that everyone wants a Hawkmoon (including me), the bigger issue is that it would drop a Hawkmoon when the one he has already has been sitting in the vault for months. I've also seen the constant requests for a trade system. Obviously, a true trade system currently would not work in Destiny. But a limited one could suffice. I apologize if this has been brought up before but my idea is this: an EXOTICS ONLY trading system. Essentially this trade system has two things: 1. You can only include exotic weapons in the trade 2. You can only trade one-for-one (so no emptying out the unused exotics) For people that get multiple drops of the same exotic, especially highly sought after ones like Hawkmoon, Gjallahorn, and others, this adds value. There is no need to shard another Gjallahorn if it can be traded for another useful weapon. In addition, most people will not get multiples of rare exotics and there are probably very few Guardians willing to give up their best gun. This means trades would not occur at a ridiculous frequency. This is just an idea and a lot would need to happen. What do you guys think?
