I May Have Found Something Crazy in the Grimoire Cards

So one day on my train ride to school, I was poking around my Grimoire cards. I went from the "allies" section to the "mysteries and legends" section. I proceeded to read the Black Garden card when something caught my eye. I'll summarize what I read, but I highly recommend you read it yourselves. The Guardian, Pujari, had a vision of the Black Garden. He stumbled upon a Ghost-like being blossoming out of a flower. He went to pluck the flower but a thorn poked him and he bled Light. The Ghost says to Pujari, "You are a dead thing made by a dead power in the shape of the dead. All you will ever do is kill. You do not belong here. This is a place of life." The Guardian protests saying that the Traveler is life. However, he looks back at the serene landscape of the Black Garden, and he felt doubt. Once raised back up from his vision, the cut was still on his hand. The Ghost-like flower tells Pujari that all us Guardians will ever do is kill. That is exactly what we do. How many times have we slain Atheon, and Crota? How many strikes and patrol missions have we completed by terminated everything that stands in our paths? We are stuck in an endless loop of murder set forth by the Traveler and the speaker. According to the Ghost-flower, we are dead and we were brought up by something that is also dead (the Traveler). So maybe we really aren't what we think we are. Maybe we have been fighting for the wrong reason, as The Stranger briefly mentions in Destiny's sorry in-game story. Maybe, like Pujari, we have to wake up to what truly is "the light." Please leave any other conspiracies, comments, or other theories below. I think Destiny's story could have potential, if Bungie does it right. Thanks for reading. See you starside.

  • This grimoire excerpt also caught my attention, and i feel like it is definitely alluding to the fact that not everything is as it seems. What if each guardian holds true light within themselves, but it is being concealed by the false shell and "light" of the traveler? We fight to protect the traveler, but what if it is "the darkness" that we have been fighting since the end of the golden age. The traveler has easy access to all of the remaining human race, given its close proximity to the last safe city on Earth. Maybe the supercharges guardians are able to use are manifestations of the light attempting to escape the darkness of the traveler, but we can't recognize it? Many theories like this have been mentioned before, but this is just my two cents.
