So I see a lot of people complaining about the fact that there is no trading mechanism in destiny but no solutions, and I can completely understand why. The reason there currently is none is due to the fact that bungie thinks that people will just recycle old gear willy nilly. Most likely this is what will happen, people who frequently raid can amass large quantities of gear that will either give it all to friends or sell it to amass more useful items, either way the people getting the gear has to do absolutely nothing and can become max leveled.
There is a simple way around this that could be implemented to ensure people need to at least play the Game as intended and also include a trade. Make trading a buyable entity. For 20 motes of light, the speaker (or xur ) should sell a trading coin (or token of light). This token can be used to activate one trade, of one item, with one player. Once bought can be activated by interacting with a player and inviting them to trade, the invited player will be given an in game notification and will have to interact with the other player to accept. This makes the trading player still have to work to get their gear. Other variations could include both players needing a token or maximum uses per week.

My main issue is there isn't enough items to make trading worth it. Everyone will just trade for the limited items and basically be done. Plus who knows what type of duplications will go down with trading.
