So I was browsing reddit like I usually do in my free time specifically for things about games I play when I stumbled upon this. I read this and realized that he is extremely right. Bungie should take this guys advice because this is the difference between a good game and a GREAT game:

Edit #1: Hey guys thanks for all the amazing feedback. Also wanted to say that with the first cut scene on mars when humans first landed was a excellent display of what Bungie is capable of we just need more of that great story telling ability they show far to little of.
Edit #2: Its me again fellow guardians. Thank you so much. You guys made this a trending topic for all to see. To all who are reading this if you don't comment, give it a like or a bump. Secondly I take no credit for this reddit post all credibility goes to the original author I'm just the messenger.
Stay Frosty Guardians.

Destiny is a game with great gameplay but with no soul, no emotion, no plot that makes the player keep playing to find out what comes next. It is an empty and hollow world, lifeless. Perhaps in the future will be more than just a gaming arena, an amusement park for FPS players (like me). I really hope so.

That post makes an excellent point and great suggestions. I feel that Bungie has actually been paying attention to what the players have been saying. I can't see them fixing the story/soul issue of the PVE portion on the second expansion (it's been in the works for a while I'm assuming) but I can see it happening by whatever follows the next expansion. I also would like to have that dirty desperate feel to the game like I got from Halo. Another game that did a good job with that was Mass Effect.

Edited by Jack Rampage: 12/26/2014 11:13:38 PMThis guy hit the nail 100% for me. He's absolutely right. There's so many questions in destiny, far more than there are answers. Bungie, please, we need back story. We need continuing story, we need more places to go, more things to do, and we need real NPC interaction, we need to see and know what were actually fighting for and we need to understand why. This is what is holding this game back from being the best game ever. Edit:spelling

Well, I think it's obvious that we did not get a game with a whole lotta soul. The single thing keeping people playing, is that the gameplay is good. I'd love a full city, clearing buildings one by one, defending outposts, etc., but it ain't happening here! But I still come back and play.... Oy vay!
-
Wow all that makes sense I always want to go down to the city but can't I want to take back earth but I can't why can't they make this game feel like everything you do makes a difference
-
This isn't a game it is a research project. We are doing phase 2 of beta testing apparently
-
If someone wants purpose then they should stop playing video games and do something more productive in real life
-
This will never happen. It is possible that you will see civilization, but not this. If you saw a captain rip through a small viliage of humans an killing every one ESRB would have to change their rating.
-
What if there's like a plot twist and the fallen are actually good while it's the tower who's been evil all along. Like what if the tower just like fell in a mission...that'd be sweet AF
-
wow, just wow. He speaks for a lot of us.
-
100% agree. We are fighting for nothing. There is no story pull. We are a bunch of random mercenaries with no clear goal or reason to move forward. On top of that the planets remain the same as if their is no progress.
-
It'd be cool if: #1: they let you skip cutscenes #2 they showed multiple guardians in cutscenes, if they ACTUALLY made ones worth watching and added more...which would mean they'd have to actually write a story so you could have a more "co-op" feel to it. #Bungie gave a damn
-
i agree and have said this my self. destiny is hollow and empty. its the biggest lie in gaming history. bungie needs to release a free and huge dlc to keep destiny alive.
-
Very well put
-
Eris does a good job of making me feel like killing crota is a big deal
-
Very good post. Honestly, I don't feel like there is any reason for me to believe that the Traveler, the Ghosts, the Speaker, the Guardians, are "good guys". There's just no evidence for it.
-
reach was a good attempt but the intro to mass effect 3 really gives you a sense of being out gunned and helpless to stop the innocents dieing

Edited by IMAGE NOT FOUND: 12/25/2014 9:51:10 PMWith regards to Russia, the cosmodrome was a spaceport, not a civilian populated area, which is no doubt why you saw no houses - and the idea is that humanity has completely retreated to the last city But yes, there's still an emotional element missing from destiny that would help you identify with the characters and their motivations

This guy's comment on reddit makes me think of how awesome it would be to have Firefight modes called "Defend Twilight Gap" or "Defend the Six Fronts." These modes could be crafted to be class specific -- i.e., one for hunters only, one for titans (Six Fronts), etc., and then branch out to Firefight modes for Exos, Humans and Awoken. That could be one swift way to incorporate the poster's ideas as well as a missing dynamic in Destiny -- your class and species actually meaning something!

So it's safe to say that that $500 million dollar thing was all fluff ( Hey look! A big number, buy our game). Or the only team that had thorough skill was the art department and original writers
-
I had this feeling during the beta.
-
This guy is 100% correct. When I played the Halo games, to see my fellow soldiers die beside me while I as The line Spartan had to stay alive gave me a "purpose" You really don't have that in Destiny. Yes, we know that our purpose is to fight the darkness, but no sense of urgency about it. Sadly, I don't think Bungie will implement something like this, or the other things you guys are mentioning. They will most likely be adding all our cool ideas into Destiny 2. They got their money.

-
Yeh this guy has it right...on a side note about fighting on the walls....I think something like that could be incorporated into a horde/firefight mode....imagine being able to see the frontlines of battle from the tower....then being able to go out and fight the hordes back

I hear ya
