So I am considering getting in to the Borderlands series. Should I get Borderlands 2 or The Presequel? Which is the better game in your guys' opinions?
Edit: so it seems that Borderlands 2 is the obvious winner. Now comes the next part; are any of you on ps3 that I could jam with?

If you were 360 I would pull an all nighter with you!

I have only played Borderlands 2, one of the best games I have ever played. I would recommend that one.
-
GET.BORDERLANDS.ONE.
-
I played #2 waaaaay to much but loved it number 1 is awesome too. I really didnt like the presequel. The movement and aiming seemed different and you cant refarm bosses to get exotics :(

The Presequel is just -blam!-ing boring. Handsome Jack isn't as interesting, the oxygen mechanic is annoying, the guns are guns not really anything special, the classes are not very interesting except for Claptrap, the environments are ANNOYING, the vehicles have shitty controls. All in all, very piss poor compared to 1 and 2. It got stale.

It looks like you already made up your mind, but I strongly recommend the first one. It's pretty good, and really makes you appreciate BL2 that much more for how it expanded on the original.

they dropped the ball with OP levels in Borderlands 2 (and I had all characters at op8 with ALL gear) Borderlands 1 was fun both games had moments where it was just a HUGE space that you drive through and nothing ever happens there then I bought Xbox One, and found out that Pre-Sequel was not going to be released on X1, so I didn't buy it
-
All 3 are -blam!-ing worthless

First one is great, still my favorite of the series.
-
heard mixed reviews on the pre sequel but 2 was awesome
-
Get all three, even though I haven't heard great things about the pre sequel.
-
First borderlands was pretty dope.. You need someone to do mob with or its not worth it
-
Yeah, I'm on PS3. You should think about buying the dlc as well. They were all fairly good and proved to be solid time sinks. Especially the Dungeons and Dragons themed dlc.
-
Borderlands 1 is probably the best gameplay wise but the graphics are a turn off for some. In borderlands 2 the grind is unimaginable and when you reach level cap it can feel like the weakest enemies are soaking up bullets like it's going out of style. And borderlands the pre-sequel is a mesh of the two just with very little story even though it is amazing. Personally I would get the Pre-sequel and then go for borderlands 1 and then two

DO IT

If you were to play on PC, I'd totally play with you.
-
I beat Borderlands 2 countless times, I played it a lot. I got The Pre-sequel the day it came out, and it hasn't been too enjoyable. I'd recommend Borderlands 2.
-
You're gonna pass on the first one? Borderlands 2 was a time suck, logged a lot of hours. Make sure you get the GOTY with all the DLC (check this novel concept out - you actually get different places to go with the DLC!) I bought Presequel, got about halfway through it, meh. I would have finished it, but then I got the new console so haven't been on the PC.

Out of those two go with borderlands 2. It's my favorite by far. The story for TPS is cool, but is short. If you do get bl2 get the goty addition so you get the dlc(Tiny Tina's DLC is the best). Also you can farm LEGENDARIES in bl2 were as in TPS most drop from one time encounters.
-
You can get borderlands 2 extremely cheap so I'd opt for that(haven't tried the presequel myself)

2

Borderlands 2. And grab 3 friends.
-
Get 2 - you get some background info (even if it's after the events of TPS)
