Ward of Dawn underpowered?

I used to feel that all supers in the game were OP in crucible (making everything effectively balanced) but no more. I think ward of dawn needs a buff in pvp. It can be shattered by golden gun, nova bomb and fist of havoc and easily infiltrated by arc blade and radiance. Sure it has it's uses in holding down control objectives, but I think it could use some improvements to make the subclass more fun in pvp. Nowadays everyone knows not to step inside the bubble unless you're packing serious heat. So we don't see as many of those ward of dawn punching massacres we saw at launch. This came to mind as i used radiance to run inside an enemy bubble and melee/grenade 4 of their team. Just felt pretty bad for the selfless defenders who give so much, but in return only receive a beating.

  • Not with helm of Saint 14 and blessing of light

  • Nope, it's chill. The only thing our bubbles need are music.

  • Just as everyone learned not to turn their back on a dead Sunsinger...and learned not to group together to avoid being supered by Voidwalkers, Striker Titans and Bladedancers. Nature of the PvP beast. Human opponents have the nasty habit of learning and adapting.

  • Why is it that a Nova bomb takes out the ward completely AND kills the people inside too? What the heck is the point of that?

    • All supers counter another super. Bubble is easily beaten by a super but most guys don't waste their super destroying a bubble unless everybody is in it or its on a capture point. I find it better than fist of havoc for getting kills. It can be used offensively and combined with the helm of St 14 you can rack up alot of kills with it

    • It's fine as is. If you have a shotgun with a good RoF, an infiltrating Blade Dancer doesn't stand a chance.

    • It costs another super to kill you. That is balanced.

    • They can fix WOD by allowing you to shoot out of it, but you do 50% less damage

    • It needs an exotic (helmet) that let will let you shoot out of the bubble

    • It's really a deceiving and distracting super. I have found great uses to it. I can't upload a YT vid because I can't upload(infinite loading). But I did some pretty good things to it, stealing kills because enemies think I'll stay in it, surprise attacks, and a boxing ring(I'm the boss inside[armor of light]). I don't even need to be using shotguns.

    • lets put it like this, WOD with the perk that gives you a shield for punch killing and armor of light makes you nigh invincible.. three things showed me this. PVE cursed thrall punching: two blow up in the bubble and i don't even lose my blue overshield. PVP shotgunned twice and punched and im still alive PVP BLADEDANCER needed two/three swipes to kill me the last line is all you really need to know haha

There should be an exotic that makes it damage enemies. Not a one hit kill, but a steady dot like thorn And it should stay up after the Titan dies. Nova bomb and FoH stay up with the right perks, why not bubble?

    • I think you're forgetting that Ward of Dawn is a supportive supper. It isn't offensive other than the buff's it can give. Weapons of light can wreck in PvP. Ever see a whole team push for B with it? It's nasty. Overshield that recharges whenever I leave and exit? Awesome for running near the bubble and clearing out those who try and super it. Honestly I think it's pretty balanced as it is. If I see one and I don't have my super ready, I have to avoid it. It's pointless to attack Ward of Dawn unless you have your super. In which case you generally end up wasting it to just kill the titan. Which means that titan gave his life so that in theory a few more of his teammates could live.

    • If you think about it though, every super is designed to counter every other super. That way, the power doesn't come from the actual ability, but rather from the timing of said ability. If I use radiance, and then you pop novabomb, golden gun, blade dancer, or fist of havoc, I am probably going to die. Even with the shield, going in and trying to melee them all only works if they stay in the bubble with you. You can set this up any way you want, but the point is if two people both have supers, whoever uses theirs at the proper time is the one that's probably going to win.

    • It is underpowered in a way. Example. Golden Gun takes 2 shots but really should take all 3. Nova Bomb wipes the bubble AND it's inhabitants. It should simply wipe the bubble and do a bit of splash damage to soften the people up. No answer for the 'physical' supers but then if you see them coming evade I guess. Or alternatively just play Striker because it's way better in PvP. Shoulder Charge ends many. Insurmountable Skullfort is a beast in PvP.

In Crucible? Hell yes, I have the symbiote helmet on usually and it'll take two shots to drop it and another two shots left over to kill who ever is dancing inside under the brief delusion of invincibility. It's useless in Crucible.

Ward of Dawn is a buff bubble and nothing more in pvp. Get the buff and run around for about 15sec then run back. Weapons of Light turns any sniper into a 1 shot body kill. Two shots body kills with hand cannons. Really need that glass helm for defenders wheres everyone getting thiers?

          • I am a Titan. ..I would never use Defender in PvP, why would you? Clearly its not working for you because you come onto the forum and QQ about it. I have only ever seen 1 Titan use Defender and be unkillable with it. For the life of me I cannot remember the PSN tag. He was sniping mainly but omg he was VERY fast with the sniper from across the map. Go near him and you were also dead. Holding an objective is only good to capture it then move on, if you stay, you will die to a super.

              • Totally underpowered in pvp. Pretty much any other super either destroys it, or destroys it and kills all the people inside lol. I'd say it has very little practical value outside of control.

Very much underpowered every super in the game beats it It's good area control but only if you have nice support otherwise if no one is helping you, you can just get rushed by a couple people and easily killed. Pve wise though it's one of the best
