Red Death Vs Thorn
Just wondering which exotic the community considered better.
In the Red corner we have the vampiric pulse rifle, The Red Death.
And in the Black corner we have the poisonous hand cannon, The Thorn.
I have both and they're awesome!
Why these two weapons you may ask well the red death gives back life after taking someone else's and the Thorn does poison damage and as you know greatest defense is a great offense.

6 RepliesThorn. It'll be nerfed in PvP soon but if you want the best exotic in the game right now it's thorn. Its two shot kill in PvP.

1 ReplyDepends on the map. If you know you have some decent sight lines and you're adequate with red death and it's bounce, you're going to wreck. If you're on maps with a lot of twists and turns, and you need something you can ready fast, fire two or three shots and get to cover, than thorn is the better option. This also depends on how you hold yourself in the crucible, and whether or not your play style allows pulse fire or semi auto. I guess I'm one of the few who can do better with hawkmoon or red death than I can with thorn (for some reason, when I use the gun, NONE of my shots register, and it only ever happens when I'm using thorn. What should be a hit is always a miss. So I just let both of mine collect dust)

To be honest I love them both, but I feel that red death has much more potential than thorn. Rather than dealing damage over time, it lets you regenerate health after each kill, for this reason you can take on more that one enemy at once. However, thorn is a faster and stronger fun, when it comes to a complicated map, thorn is the way to go because it can be ready quick. The red death can drop someone faster than thorn, so I believe that red death beats it out

1 ReplyNo offense red death sucks. I have it and it is not close to be my go to weapon. Sure those of you who want it will probably be let down because of its lack of range(Unless it's for crucible).

1 ReplyNew thorn is great, but I need to relevel it (f u bungie) I'm partial to red death as it was my first drop. It depends on your play style. In pve it's basically just keep killing and you can't die cause of the health perk. You will never lead in kill amount in strikes or raids, but you are solid and secure with the red death. Also if you need to do the precision kills bounty I find it super easy using red death, it just gravitates right to the head lol Now in crucible (I'm not that into it nor great at it) I found red death to be useless and thorn way better after its buff.

Ive had Thorne and red death both with signature upgrades for like 125 hours and I can honestly say that Thorne is alot better
