Thorn Bounty: PvP frustration
Mkay, so I'm a fairly decent PvP player. I can roughly get a 2.3 K/D when I tighten the try-hard pants, but [b]good GOD[/b], this bounty ridicules me beyond the point to lose my sanity.
I [u]hate[/u] using fusion rifles, it just doesn't work for me. I'm great with shotguns but the only void one I have is The Crash which has [i]terrible[/i] range. And snipers are just a big no-no for me.
Any tips?

1 ReplyEdited by unemployed: 12/21/2014 9:15:38 PMI did this bounty in 5 matches using swordbreaker(void shotgun from Crota) and corrective measure. Play control and just camp the flag no ones at and just wait for them to come, then pick em off like flies. Everytime I picked up heavy it was an easy 5kills at least. If you get put in the twilight gap map I suggest camping b. Crouch the entire time and if you're a hunter just go invis. Went 18-1 on that map just sitting at B invisible with a shotgun.

Like few of the other people I did this part in 6 games. If you have a void fusion or shotty and a void LMG just camp, not camp In a corner but stay in a semi high traffic area where you know your teammates will be around as well. Don't focus to much on the deaths it does hurt your progress but if you can get at least 1-2 kills before you die you'll be fine I waited to do this bounty for over a month now after seeing all the forum rage about it I'm glad I finally did it today. Thorn looks bad ass I can't wait to unlock DOT

2 RepliesHonestly this wasn't that hard for me. I'm a warlock so my Voidwalker helped a bit, But besides that, all I had was an uncommon shotgun with void, and I'm a level 31. It took about 7-10 matches for me to complete this.

The Crash has good range, unless we have different perks all together, there's one that gives it better range. That's what I use. Look at my recent games, speaks for itself.

2 RepliesI love threads like this- if I had the gun for real I'd be stroking it so hard- as it is I'm stroking it digitally. I really struggled with it too but honestly I wouldn't change it. When you do succeed it'll be so much better for the effort you put in.

2 RepliesGet a diff shotty. I finished mine in about 10 or so IB matches with the "secret handshake" from the vanguard maxed out, though it dose not one hit kill 3/4 of the time sadly yet a rare black chasma ESC can (in IB) it is seriously f'd up :/

2 RepliesJust keep at it. Take your time go slow. And I hate to say this but learn to fusion rifle. It's the only way to make this bounty easier. People say xyor is the harder part of the bounty but once I finally got him to spawn he died in 3 rockets. ._.

I was only able to finish this because I used my void walker class haha but I used a void jolders hammer atheons epilogue and praedyths revenge. My advice is camp heavy ammo with a good void lmg, it ain't cowardly it's situational ;)

My kd is worse than yours and I got it done. Of course I used a fusion rifle but I played rumble. More kills for you to score. Just get a 2ndary void you like, equip a void heavy and roll rumble. If I can do it you can too!

I used two to the morgue shotty with a legendary rocket launcher that targeted that with ruin wings gave me guaranteed 2-3 kills with heavy ammo drops did it in about 2.5 hrs. Hang in there you'll get it

Play control Get Corrective Measure. Select Field Scout perk. Get that heavy ammo, wait til opponent uses theirs. Have fun.

You'll get there. I've done it twice and I'm average at best in the crucible. Voidwalker helps immensely. As do Voidfang Vestments for the instant grenade energy with axion bolts. Get a headshot on an enemy, toss grenade, walk away. I have two more Thorn bounties now for the upgraded version. Working on those now. Good luck!

Good with a shottie? Did mine with a rare shottie.

become Warlock and use Voidwalker subclass. Grenade, melee, and super all net void kills. Finding another void shotgun will work to your advantage too.

Usually the gunsmith has some good range shotguns. Sometimes with void.

Had the bounty for a long time. Not really in love with destiny pvp so it's sitting on the shelf just about 20% done

I was the same way with fusions. I watched a video and saw how much the range and accuracy improved by aiming down sights. I'm not good at PvP, but did it an about 6 hours playtime with a blue fusion and blue heavy. Learn the heavy ammo spawns and play control. It helps knowing where most enemies are going to come from. You can do it.

Atheon's epilogue if you can get it. I grinded it out yesterday and it wasn't fun because I hate that gun in PVP lol. The worst part is still to come unfortunately, Xyor.
