If you're a hunter do you prefer bladedancer or gunslinger?
I've had the game for awhile but really only just starting to play it. Made a hunter and once I got to level 15 I chose bladedancer for it's perks like going invisible. I did not like how you only got three shots with gunslinger. I can kill more enemies with bladedancer. What are the biggest pros and cons of both classes?
Thanks for all the responses. For now I'm using gunslinger because I had that class leveled up more. I will switch between the two to level them both up to max.
edit: so I've played a lot today and I just can't seem to get away from being a bladedancer. I like chain of woe and triple jump a lot but something is really satisfying about blink strike and using the blade as a super.
edit: thanks for the responses. I have started using gunslinger more and chain of woe and triple jump or worth it for sure. I'm only level 23 and the decoherent engrams I've been getting for armor haven't been giving me anything I can use to reach a higher light level. Oh well, game is fun.

My advice is (coming from someone who has had the game since it's came out and has been a hunter since day 1) have both maxed out with two exotic helmets that make the class you have chosen better, I prefer gunslinger but I use blade dancer when the situation occurs and then I stick with it until I need gunslinger again. I feel that that's the best way to do it so that way you are ready for any situation

I use Gunslinger for PVP, and Bladedancer for PVE. Bladedancer gives you invisibility for reviving team mates, speed for dodging missiles, Bladedancing for getting through waves of goblins/thrall/legionaries/dregs/Flayers, and grenades that deal great damage to bosses. Gunslinger, however, gives you throwing knives for when you run out of ammo (and more stylish kills), triple jump for extreme maneuverability, tripmine a for 90% sure kills on anything from a level 10 who doesn't know what's going on to a level 30 in an intercepter, and better armor.

Chain of woe and gunslinger's trance are way too valuable to let go.

1 ReplyDon't be fooled my friend, bladedancer does not necessarily mean more kills. Chain of woe and gunslingers trance can make a bad gun very good and a good gun amazing.

I have two hunters I like both styles equally My alt hunter is just to help with RNG and is only blade dancer. My Primary is gunslinger with the thorn as main and I love the reload perk along with the prec boost.

With Symbiote helm 4 GG shots with aoe damage just wrecks groups. It fits my style better. I like bladedancer too, but for some reason I feel like using that class is equivalent to nerfing myself.

Both for different situations but the symbiote helmet gives gunslinger an extra golden gun shot. So clutch

If you do eris bounties you will need both. Bladedancer is great for this crota raid. Gunslinger is awesome if you primary handguns.

Gunslinger is generally more useful for end game content like raids, nightfalls etc. but Bladedancer has its moments such as going invisible to revive someone

It all depends what your doing, blade dancer has its pros and also it's cons. I tend to stick to gunslinger the majority of the time especially for PVE, although I do prefer arc bolt grenade to any of the gunslinger grenades. Bladedancer is an awesome subclass, I mean... Who wouldn't want to go invisible ? For the new raid it's great, makes it very easy to solo the first lamp phase.

1 ReplyBladedancer for pvp because: •Slide perk (GREAT for shot gunning) •Regen Perk when you get a kill with blink strike (AMAZING when you get your armour and agility maxed) •Super that can wreck a whole area But, for pve, gunslinger because: •Triple jump makes for easier evading •The ability to have two, solar throwing knives so you can still attack from a little ways away •Super that can deplete a boss's health significantly I have both maxed out and switch between them accordingly. IF ANY HUNTER WANTS TO HAVE A SETUP THAT CAN DEMOLISH EITHER INSPECT ME OR PRIVATE MESSAGE ME.

Depends on what I'm doing in the game. I do change sub-class depending in the situation like the raids. Vault - GS, Crota - BD

I main gunslinger for both pvp and ive but when the situation requires it I'll use bladedancer in both.

Gunslinger is a better super for PvE but I prefer bladedancer because of invisibility plus with don't touch me gauntlets it is a really good build. Gunslinger also has a better jump though.

Most other time I run gunslinger because of that gunslinger's trance+chain of woe. Pvp I actually prefer gunslinger over the "so OP" bladedancer just because I feel a little sturdier and gunslinger keeps me from wanting to just run in the open like an idiot. Edit: I don't know how people can stand blink I just can't get used to only being able to jump twice.
