This community is changing along with the game.

Edit: Well this received a lot more attention than I expected and as near as I can tell, it's all good! I just wanted to say thanks. -Also adding a Thank you to Harperluu for her contribution. We're not all kids here and the string of comments following her post shows just how diverse the gaming community is. These are what I consider to be hardcore gamers, the ones that'll be taking a controller to their grave (but not just yet!). Is it my imagination or did the Destiny community turn out quite differently from the one we were expecting? I thought it would be a group of like minded sci fi fans playing out their fantasies of being the next Boba Fett or creating teams and trying to save humanity. Regardless of the path chosen I believed we were going to be in this together. Instead we seem to have been over run with a group of trash talking kids that conform to the COD stereotype. "Git gud scrub!" Is all over these forums and the vitriol they expel whenever someone makes a criticism (regardless of merit) of the game is appalling. I've been muting them as fast as I can, but they're everywhere! This community has become toxic and I can't help but feel that, as the game pushes the PVP aspect over the PVE more and more, it can only get worse. My fireteam and raid team is composed of adults, most with children. After the DLC dropped the polarity amongst the players became severe. My fireteam and raidteam found it so unpleasant that they've left Destiny. Some have returned to MMO's like DCUO and FF XIV , others are back to playing Borderlands. This game didn't turn out to be the epic space drama sandbox we expected and that's something we accepted (though we still have hope!). What is harder to take is Bungies insistence on fostering this prevailing "Space COD" atmosphere. Competition is fine, but the Co-op is why so many of us are here. We wanted to be part of an event that was going to be the gaming equivalent of Star Wars. To be able to look back ten years from now and say "I was there for that!" Don't lose sight of your vision Bungie. We bought this game because we believed in it as strongly as you.

 • When you get a game that sells as well as this one, there is no chance of it having a "good" community by any universal metrics. You've just gotta find your pocket and accept that everything outside of that is what it is. The issue is that everyone's pockets are disintegrating as the game goes farther and father and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther and farther down the tubes.
