Lately in the crucible I have been witnessing a large amount of players lagging during matches, and so far it seems that having lag is a benefit. Trying to defeat a guardian who is lagging around is actually quite challenging. It is like that those who have the power of a red bar connection ascend to a higher being with god like powers. Powers which include being able to teleport, having the ability to not sustain damage and also being able to prevent death for enough time needed to kill the guy that should of killed the laggy player.
I'll give an example. I throw a magnetic grenade on a red barring player, the grenade goes off but the player remains alive. He then charges towards me and murders me, then about 5 seconds after my death he drops dead and it says my grenade is the cause.
That is really infuriating when a player you are sure should be dead can cheat their way out of death.
Rant over.

Lag can induce stress hernias for me. Three head shots with sniper, only to get gunned down a couple seconds after the fact. By the warlock who copped said headshots. Tears were collected that day. My tears...... -200 tears (cup now empty)
-
The worst is being tea bagged by that dude who keeps lagging and moves like a ninja on drugs.
-
I've had times when I've had to wait 30 seconds for me to respond because of lag. It is the worst.
-
I used to lag a lot before fixing my connection. I admittedly did get a lot of cheap kills. But there is a pretty even amount of bs that happens and screws you over. In total it's more annoying than helpful.
-
I agree buddy, it's one thing to be bested by a better opponent and maybe learn something, but there's nothing to be learned from deaths by lag advantage...
-
Agree 100%. Had a guy in IB last night that was a 28 that would not die. I run with thorn so it's 2 head shots and I move on. This guy, I'd dump rounds into him and his shield never went down. 30's and 31's in the room would drop like rocks but the 28 was a beast. After he murdered me a few times I noticed he was the only red bar in the room. Figures.

Laggers are the Minotaurs of the Crucible. They teleport too often.
-
Ya ive been saying this for awhile, during IB I fist of havoc'd two 28's and a 26 capping b on twilight gap. They all survived and shot me dead(lvl 31). All redbars. Some are doing it purposely some just have bad connections. There is a report: bad connection option
-
Every game usually has at least 4-5 players red barring. It's ridiculous. I recently got a 12 Mbps package (which is only average at best) and still lag horribly in PvP.
-
I have witnessed this a lot since yesterday evening. Players surviving fifteen seconds after I kill them, so I continue shooting to ensure the kill, which leads to my death because I'm busy making sure they died. And teleporting shotgun users are terrifying.
-
The number one reason is don't play destiny pvp is the horrible connections. Until there is a local connection setting. Pve for me unfortunately because I love pvp.
-
Lol, I always have people telling me I lag snipe my way to victory. Jokes on them, my connection is likely better anyway.
-
Just Report them! It's really frustrating to Try to kill a noobie Striker and his shotgun.
-
I played a match where a lag-god was teleporting from the floor to the ceiling constantly. I just shot straight and prayed to rngjesus
-
Yeah, I played a match where the two with the worst connections on the team were always on top.

Edited by Spamz: 12/23/2014 2:44:07 PMHere are a few interesting clips relevant to the thread: One lTwo Three All taken from Iron Banner matches last night. Fighting against players with poor connections is disorienting, and quite frustrating. Usually what ends up happening when one or more players like this appears is some sort of normalizing or compensation across the lobby which is frustrating in and of itself. In the worst cases, well, the above videos are a good enough demonstration I think.
-
You know, now that you mention it I did run into a whole team that was red barring. Their clan tag was 4chan lol.
-
Report red bar bullet sponge players for bad connection. Before the game starts press start, check the roster and you can report before the game starts. ;)
-
I remember one such incident, me and a Blink Invective 'Lock were going at it doing some crazy acrobatics due to (despite me pumping him thrice with my Comedian) his connection and resilience to all forms of damage. Unlike many players like this that just blindly run into a wall me and this lad were actively going at each-other. After what was likely around eight seconds I die to his feisty lady and see him bend-over backwards and flip with a kill point calculator.
-
It's not the game as a whole, but certain people are like unlikable at times I've noticed. It's rare but the occasional guy just doesn't have shots register on him.
-
Yesterday I noticed it a lot. There was almost a whole team glitching across the map. It was like playing whack - a - mole
-
I honestly doubt there is any sort of regional matchmaking in this game.
-
and this is the #1 reason why i avoid crucible as much as possible. too frustrating. left Battlefield due to horrible lag/hit detection.
-
Lol you should see some of this lag. Skip anywhere on video http://youtu.be/jOSb88nFi2s There was an invincible guy for atleast a minute
-
I get red bars constantly. Doesn't always mean they go around teleporting.
-
It's bungie. I get red bars randomly in some games. Weird as shit. I think that connections are RNG. Lol
