Petition for vault to be stored in your ship

I don't see why we have to travel to the tower every 5 minutes.. Come on bungie.. instead of having a completely useless jumpship that's just an animation.. how about we can store all our spare stuff in our ship? 1: this would save pointless loading screens that are just a drainer.. 2: would save people having to go and change characters or need to go back to the tower just cos they forgot heavy ammo or their gjallarhorn for Example.. 3: would make sense to actually get use out of our ships.. A good way to do this is maybe different ships can have different storage space? Edit: if there's space for 9 ships in your inventory and u could store stuff in each of them.. that's a considerable difference to vault space.. in addition to this Another idea I was thinking of was that instead of getting the same raid ship every time with no perks.. if they bring in a vault in the ship then why not have one raid ship that can store armour.. another that stores weapons.. armour have different stats eg. Discipline, intellect, strength.. why can't a ship? I bet you everyone will do raids and hope for a new ship.. and not feel so let down every time u get one.. or when u get ur 17th one and just dismantle it.. u might think twice about keeping a ship.. I'm sure I'm not alone but having a full vault, and needing to store weapons and armour in other characters is getting very old.. and it's a bit of an inconvenience. Starting to get very annoying imo.. Come on bungie.. please help us out with these agonizing loading screens! This is my 2 cents worth.. What's your 2 cents? Any ideas on how this could work? Agree or disagree? Bump, comment, like, share.. Keep this up the top.. let's make this hit bungie's monkeys! Edit: I agree with a few people's comments that we should also spawn in the tower.. great idea guys.. Edit: we also need more vault space in addition to this.. Edit: Loving the idea of being able to access your vault from orbit! This is exactly what I'm talking about!! Great idea!! Edit: GREAT IDEA !! Shoutout to odie427 this is what im talking about!! The ships should have an upgrade system to allow you to do things in orbit. ie vault, crytarch, faction vendor for your favorite faction. Then you could buy more vault space and have something to spend glimmer on instead of just exotic upgrades. Thank you very much for the support and thoughts guys.. and sorry in advance for all the edits.. as people come up with great ideas I'm adding them to my post so other people can see

  • Good idea but I doubt we will ever see something like this. The purpose of "Orbit" is to off load active connections to the Destiny servers. Adding in a vault to the "Orbit" screen would essentially require an active connection to the Destiny servers. This would defeat the entire purpose of having an "Orbit" screen. Spawning in Tower vs. Orbit would also defeat the purpose of having an Orbit screen. This is a discussion of Convenience vs. Function. Sure it would be convenient to have a vault in orbit, sure it would be convenient to skip a loading screen and get to Tower faster, sure it would be convenient to have an upgradeable ship with quest lines to earn new NPC's who farm planet materials or class crafting materials while you're offline; BUT... these changes are simple not going to be implemented. These changes would require FUNDAMENTAL changes to the way that Destiny is physically coded. Destiny 2? Maybe we will see the beginnings of these changes. Destiny 3? Sure if they get it together these things could be part of the game. But these changes are far to grandiose and unrealistic to be seriously considered. I want a Lamborghini for Christmas because it's so inconvenient that my current car does not have a V-12 engine or suicide doors, but this is an unrealistic request. I'm not bashing the creativity in this post but up voting and hoping this gets pushed through is only going to set you up for disappointment. Look at a simple bug of "Carry More Ammo for 'x' Weapon Type". On the surface this appears like a quick easy fix, but in reality there is probably so much code involved with something like this that it is incredibly difficult simply to identify the bugged code, let along begin to fix it with out crippling the entire system. I have limited if any understanding of coding but my rationale seems pretty common sense. And to the people who will bash and down vote me- go ahead, ignorance is bliss. Understand though that this is THE ONLY online game I have ever played that has had damn near PERFECT stabilization on release day and also patch days. I guess no one remembers World of Warcraft's servers being basically unplayable on release day. Hell they've been doing their do for the last 10 years and when they released Warlords of Draenor the servers were basically broken for 2 days. Bungie has been doing this for 3 months, I played with no issues on release day, and again when the Dark Below dropped. Good with the bad. /rant. Refunds for $0.02 available upon request.
