Why you CAN'T compare Destiny to Skyrim.

Well, here's the deal. One, is a well known, solid gaming franchise that's had the same idea and engine for awhile. The other, is a brand new ip that hasn't been done (well at least) before. Let's break this down a bit. Skyrim was not a new ip for Bethesda. It was not a new game idea either. Skyrim is part of a well known and well established franchise that you may have heard of. It's called Elder Scrolls.. Wait what's that? You have heard of it? Well no shit! Not only is it part of a well known franchise, but going into it, Bethesda knew what they were going to do. While it isn't the same exact engine as in Oblivion, the engine is heavily based around it and modified around it. Bethesda knew exactly what to do and how they were going to do it when creating Skyrim. Now what about Destiny? Well, it's a brand new ip for Bungie, not only that but they're using an idea that is almost non existent. An FPS/MMO/RPG baby. Now, while this may not be a brand new idea, I can only think of one other game that had this idea. Defiance. Are you going to sit there and lie to me that Defiance even stands close to Destiny? No. Going into Destiny, Bungie had a basic idea but again, it was never really done before. Especially not as a triple a title. So for someone's first shot at this genre, I'd say they did a pretty damn good jobs seeing as how MILLIONS of people have put HUNDREDS of hours into the game and still are each day. tl;dr Man, this orange is so much more sour than this apple.
