Crucible rewards. On top no drop?

I love playing crucible and 9/10 I'm on top of the leaderboard. I understand the rewards after game are completely random but shouldn't those who are on top have a better chance of getting something useful? Too many times I'll get nothing while the guy who goes 2-17 will get a legendary/exotic. Maybe my luck is just that bad😒

  • The worst players in the Crucible generally get the best loot. I've taken so many pictures of this. Its enraging when you're doing fairly decent and some guy that JUST entered the game and has 0 kills, 4 deaths, and 0 assists is the only guy that gets an exotic. I mean really? Its happened so many times I've stopped taking pictures.

I think the view that Bungie has taken is that sick players like you will get the rewards quicker in the form of XP and stacking bounties quickly and thus level your gear quicker and rank up significantly quicker than a barely positive player like me. Don't get me wrong. Sometimes I'm top of the board these days and I'd get more drops if the top 2 players got better drops than I do from the rng (which is like, never lol, I've only had 2 legendaries drop and one was a ship) but I do appreciate Bungie's position. You give the good players better drops the lower tier players (like me) will have a skill gap and a huge gear gap to try and make up, which will drive them out of the crucible and make the playing population lower. Personally I just love PvP (I've discovered. First time I ever played it was Destiny lol), so it doesn't bother me, but it would necessitate me spending more time patrolling for crap armor to upgrade my legendary if I couldn't harvest drops in the crucible, which would mandate time for me out of the crucible to level up to play content that I wanted to play. That would be true for all low tier players. So what you'd end up with is essentially an ever smaller population in the crucible with a higher standard. The issue is that standard would normalize as skill is always relative. So you'd have a new 'low tier' develop with a higher skill than the original low tier that would face the same challenages. So the new 'lower tier' would be forced to leave and patrol and -blam!- about to level up, and so on and so forth. So basically...I don't think Bungie can do what you're proposing as easily as you may think.

        • I noticed that the 2 middle players get more loot than the best and worst players
