Iron banner: Are the level advantages really on?
I was doing some IB yesterday and you know how it goes, win some lose some. Then i notices i started getting my butt served on a silver plater in one match by lvl 29's and lower, all of the other team were low lvl and we were getting absolutely murdered. I had the second best kd on my team and it was like a .63 or something, the best had a .95 mind you we all were either lvl 30 or 31 and one 29. So how is it possible for them to destroy us like that? I could understand if it was just me cuz I'm not very good anyway but my whole team? No, not possible, end of story. The other team either found a way to lag switch your servers or its just plain bad servers or I could be that 4 of them were hunters, if that's the case then obviously you have an improper balance with the classes. We all know the hunter is the op one in pvp and titans are underpowered by a long shot so maybe you should try to fix it bungie.

Haven't got a single legendary item since I've been playing this time. Always get matched up against full teams as well. I thought there was a system in place to match teams against teams? Seriously this time around IB sucks.

Im played IB for the first time since the first IB was released. Got to rank 5 and I'm very unimpressed with what I got for it.....rocket launcher and hand cannon are meh....I also got the sniper and auto rifle. Sniper is great but auto is trash....tbh there is no point in playing

3 RepliesI picked the hunter because he was severely under powered and I like a challenge. Not sure what you mean by ripped off. Maybe you're playing a different Destiny. The Titans have hulk smash and impenetrable shield. Warlock have boost powers and the ultimate shot, plus grenades that are a major rip off. Hunters have invisibility so we can survive a little longer. Just wanted to clarify that.

There's a chart of damage fall off as the level get further apart level 29 is pretty much on par with a 30 but you do less damage to a 32 and he does he hits you for more

I had my lvl 31 get 2 shot by a lvl 24 from half way across the map by a painted big chief 3 times. And then my nova bomb hitting dead on target and killing nothing. Shenanigans are real......

7 RepliesNo...not really. It's a perception thing, you think they are because everyone is a higher level and using legendary/exotics. If there was raid matchmaking would anyone even bother with Iron Banner? I say no.

Chances are the other team had a better comprehension of the layout, were communicating effectively and had weapons that best served their play style.

3 levels a apart, not really. But if you're 31 and killing 20s. You can see a difference. I was critting for 140s with my hawkmoon on level 20s.

There is a DEFENSE rating, and an ATTACK rating. There is also a damage multiplier from 0-1 (they call it the Nerf curve) basically guardians within 3 levels of each other are competitive. I was mowing down Lv.24s last night, I felt a little bad, but this is Iron Banner. It's pretty noticeable how much being 31 makes a difference. With that said, IB felt a little harder this time around, I think because there are so many 31s now that the factions sell 31 gear.

Don't forget that iron banner only takes armor. So if I have 100 armor and you have 1463 you will kill me one melee because of my armor. If I try to melee you it will take like 5 melees.

1 ReplyI was getting killed by the same level 28 for two games. I could not kill him. I got close to him twice and punched him. He then one shouted me and he suffered no damage. NONE both times. I am a level 30. I have not been back since.

There is a slight difference but it's hardly noticeable. I'm level 30 and if I shoulder barge a level 31 player it doesn't kill them like it usually does, they still have a small amount of health left. Unless it's a level 31 against a level 24 or something, I doubt it would make a significant difference though.

Dunno, all I know is I'm getting outgunned by people 2-3 levels lower using a less-dmg AR...

No I agree something is wrong this time around and I feel the same as a low level when I'm level 31. Compare this to the last Iron Banner and low levels were getting slaughtered good or not they would die quick. Imo Iron banner has been nerfed majorly

I think I've narrowed it down to server issues. I was in IB today and all of a sudden I was the only blue left and of course got slaughtered by a team of six. The next match I was getting kills after I was killed and spawned back in. Not grenade kills, melee kills. Obviously its server issues.

I usually topped the board with my 28 hunter, had no probs taking out 31's.

Did ok in the few Rounds i played, still a lot lower levels that kill me in a stare down, still people with Blue guns in advantage.

Weapons don't add to your light do they? I wonder why that isn't considered as light?

Might have been my lv 27 warlock, I've had a couple good wins this IB. Tbh I really should be getting rekt, but Bungie deemed it OK for me to stomp 31's

6 RepliesLook at the headshot damage. I went in at 30. On 31s I do 35 headshot damage, on 30s I do 36 headshot damage (which is my versions normal damage) on 29s I do 37, 28s I do 38, 27s I do 39, 26s I do 39. The advantage is active.
