What's with the high rof / low impact fetish ??

Got excited when I saw Iron Banner had an auto rifle on display since I'm an ar aficionado, but sure enough its yet again a high rof ar like all available in the tower. Bungie, how about making available something more in the line of Shadow Price or Vanquisher ? Edit - following advice from some fellow Guardians, I've bought the "For the People" and I'm leveling it up until I unlock the perfect stability perk at which point I'll take it for a spin in the Crucible. Also, please note that the gist of this post is not to bash high rof/low impact weapons (one of my all time favorites is the Shingen-E), my point is that it seems that with this DLC every offer from everywhere is of that archetype when it comes to AR - that's what I think is not cool. Edit2: Okay, since this thread got some attention, I'll use it to convey my 2c. on this new stream of high rof rifles. I leveled For The People up until the perfect stability perk then took it for a ride in the regular crucible. In short, it sucks. Yes I can get kills with it (on this particular game I ended with a 3.0 k/d), but it was an easy match and I was struggling to land all shots in the head and then still going like... he's almost down, almost.. almost... just a couple more.... and... some more.... and down. If the other side were to be using Suros or the Vex, I'd be meat half-way. Not only does the gun take forever to take down a player, but the scopes are bad for a gun that basically has the stability maxed out. My good old 1.0 Vanquisher has the DOT-ORS scope which is basically a small yellow dot in the center with nothing around it. I can easily follow a player's head with it close or far no matter how much strafing he tries. Imho, the old Vanq. is way, way, more powerful than at least this For The People new rifle. Now, for pve, and when its fully leveled with max attack, I can see this rifle being seriously fun with the 56 rounds in the clip, but for pvp.. not for me. And another thing.. players coming in, if this is what they have to chose going in against seasoned players using Vex,Suros,Shadow Price,Grim,Vanq.... I can see a lot of incoming tears. To the guys still bumping/replying to this thread, this was posted shortly after TDB came out and the Iron Banner came up, so its bit oldie. Still, it is an interesting piece in the context of the 1.1.1 that fked up the autos for good. Seems to me that with the TDB and the wave of pea shooters that came with it together with the removal of Grim Citizen and Shadow Price from the inventory, Bungie was indeed already trying to push auto rifles into the corner of SMGs. Well, it failed of course and no one uses them now. Reason is simple - at the range a spray-and-pray SMG could make any sense you'd be slaughtered by hand canons and shotguns. So, Bungie, go back to the drawing board and make the assault rifle a mid-range general purpose weapon. And remember: DPS is not TTK.
