Story Ideas, and connecting the Dark Below to base game

Here is a layout that I think would atleast make the DLC interesting: Open with a cutscene of the Queens emissary arriving at the Tower. She approaches the Guardian and tells him that the Queen beckons him to fulfill his or her debt. She hands him/her an envelop barring the mark of the reef and leaves, as the guardian turns, Cayde-6(Hunter Vanguard) walks up. He tells the Guardian not to trust the Queen, as she is not what she seems. The Guardian, looks at the envelop and reads the contents. This would lead to a location opening on the map. As the Guardian descends(how we normally do ie Loading screen) Ghost begins to relay the information he was able to find on their first target. After you kill the first target the a quest appears on the reef which will trigger a cutscene. The Guardian informs the Queen that his debt is fulfilled and prepares to leave only to be chastised by the Queens brother for the disrespect shown by turning his back to leave. The Queen calmly puts her brother in his place, and informs the Guardian that his debt repayment has only begun. She proceeds to inform the Guardian of the Traitors to the House of Wolves, and that in order for them to be even, the guardian must silence their heresy. This would lead to a few missions, all the while learning more about how the Queen came to power through Ghost. Near the end of the final traitor mission(most likely a strike) the Guardian would get a distress message from the Queen indicating her brother has overthrown her. This would lead in to a Raid(assault on the reef) to end his reign. Through the mission the Guardian would receive messages from the Queens brother indicating that he or she(the guardian) didn't know what they were doing, and chastising them. After finally killing the brother would be a final cutscene, with the Queen taking control again. The Guardian is then bid farewell by the Queen saying his debt is repaid. As he o she is walking away a fallen moves to the queen and asks in it's language if the queen would like the Guardian to be taken care of. She responds, with a simple no, and tells them that the Darkness has already infiltrated the tower. Story Idea #2 Connecting Dark Below Add in some lines between the Warmind mission(the first one where you discover Rasputin) and Siege of the Warmind. Have ghost interject with a message along of, "Incoming transmission from the speaker......Eris Morn has returned to the Tower, while she has been evasive to our inquisition as to her whereabouts for years it is clear she has been through much. We believe she will be more willing to engage with fellow guardians on the matter." This would lead Guardians back to the tower, which would trigger a cutscene in which Eris would approach, while Ghost is talking about the significance of finding Rasputin, as well as the Hive on earth. At which point Eris would connect the dots, and relay that this is not a coincidence. Rasputin would not have made himself known to the fallen(who seem to worship the AI's in the game) if he weren't weakened, and required assistance. Eris reveals she knows where he is, and will lead the guardian to him. This would lead to the siege of the warmind thus making sense for Rasputin. The Hive being there would stir up memories for Eris, but after defending him from Ominigul, she would realize the goal. To Awaken Crota. This would lead the Guardian to the moon and Eris would stop giving quest, until after the Sword of Crota mission, where the sword would disappear and the Cryptarchs would assume its destruction. However, Eris(having been amongst the hive) would know this meant that the sword had been summoned to its rightful owner. Fearing for the tower and what Crota could due(believing they had time to stop him) this would lead to the fist of crota mission, followed by the mission on the moon.(Eris believing they had destroyed Crota in this mission would later be revealed to be a ruse) Ominigul would then be fought in the strike, where it is revealed that Eris had been under Ominiguls thrall, and had been merely keeping the Guardians busy while Crota was returned. Eris would then tell them that the only way to kill Crota would be to go into the depths of the Hellmouth and destroy him. That would make everything interconnected.

  • Idea #4 : The Origin of the Vex(I know the Grimoire likely has some story about this, but if it is not in the game, I do not consider it canon) The vex were indirectly created by human kind. With the golden age, humans set out to create Warminds in the event of catastrophe. Their first great success was Rasputin. After the creation of Raspution they created 3 initial prototypes for a new type of warmind that could help them break through space and time. All three fell victim to rampancy. In an effort to save their work, they fused these three warminds together, and were successful. After the success, Rasputin was left to monitor this, and do trial runs.These three warminds began to learn more and more in their own time, and began to see the human race as Destructive virus. They viewed the creation of additional warminds an insult and In their secluded domain, they began to create the first prototypes of the vex(at this point in the golden age, much of the hard labour was being done by robotics). Rasputin attempted to see through this, but found it difficult to manipulate the three minds. Hacking in to multiple networks, they saw a future where the human race was vunerable. They began sending vex through the portal and back again. They chose to only go into a future where they are protected by the vex, as going into the past would cause a loss of link to minds, causing instance rampancy. They developed a protected eye in the center to keep the link between them and the vex and to watch the battle unfold. They learned much. (I am going to note that this is very rough, and I do intend to edit it) # Next Idea - Origin of the Ghost, and Origin of the Hive.
