First off, this isn't a balance discussion. While many of us are underwhelmed (and rightly so, imo) about the stats and "unique" bolt-action feature that absolutely cripples the weapon, that's not what I'm here to talk about. In short: did we really need an ELEPHANT RIFLE in our futuristic space shooter? I can't recall the last time a game has offended me on such a profound level. I realize that Bungie isn't trying to encourage the poaching of an endangered species, but that's still no excuse for putting this abomination into the game. It's bad enough that we still don't have a futuristic rail-gun-style sniper (which could totally fit the high-impact, low-fire rate mentality they seem so hell-bent on,) but the art and direction team was so lazy, all they could do was take an old long-barrel and slap a magazine into the stock? Really? I don't know about anyone else who has one, but I dob't see myself using this ugly thing for very long.
