Don't fight Ir-Yût the Deathsinger if you don't have to.

This is no longer a thing. This post is from mid-December and Ir-Yût had a drop patched in over a month ago. More, I think. Let this post die, you craven bastards. There's no drop, so why waste time and heavy ammo with this portion of the raid if you've already beaten her once? Reach Crota, but don't activate the summoning crystal. Then have your fireteam (hopefully made of friends) chill while you grab your other characters, or even just one, and drop in, then leave and bring back your first character. This is a good time for your fireteam to do the same if they have alts. The way the raid saves work is that you'll always drop in to your furthest checkpoint. So, make sure you're not fireteam leader when you run it with your second character and then when you've grabbed the second chest, go to orbit, launch the raid and have your fireteam join on you. Voila. No need to face Ir-Yût more than once a week if someone on your fireteam has a Crota checkpoint on each run. In fact, if someone on your fireteam has a Crota checkpoint already, you may not have to fight her at all. This will likely work on hard mode as well, so I'm going to take advantage of it if there's no drop added to her checkpoint. To be clear, you should fight and defeat her at least once. It's a cool fight, but not cool enough to do three times a week for three to four months for nothing.
