Dear Bungie, I loved the Iron Banner event that you gave us 2-3 weeks ago. It gave us Raid quality gear, new weapons, and a better way of earning rep towards those rewards. With the release of The Dark Below and the decisions you made about weapon damage and old Raid armour, the weapons and armour that I spent hours fighting under the Iron Banner to earn were instantly made obsolete. When you announced the Iron Banner was returning last week, I had high hopes it would rectify the situation you created. Those hopes were dashed this morning. Not only did you keep Raid quality gear out of it this time, but reforging my weapons from earlier Iron Banner events did not give them the new Dark Below max damage of 331. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! What is the point of grinding out 5 reputation levels in a 1 week event for weapons that are "special" to it if you aren't going to give us a way to continue to use them in new DLC??? I bought THREE copies of Gheleon's Demise last time because I loved it and wanted one for all 3 of my characters, and now 2 weeks later it's under powered without a way of making it relevant again. What a complete waste of time it was to not only grind to rep 5, but to grind the glimmer for all 3 as well. The lack of Raid gear is ridiculous as well, since you openly stated the first Iron Banner event didn't attract the hardcore Raiders because the gear wasn't worth their time. You have accomplished that again. There is absolutely no point for me to play Iron Banner this week. I might as well work on other rep levels, such as Eris' because you've locked new currencies to her (thanks), and continue buy Vanguard or Crucible weapons/armour, because they're just as good as the crap Saladin is pandering. EDIT: And I will continue to Raid instead of playing Iron Banner. Some people seem to think I want Raid quality items in Iron Banner as an alternative way to get to 32 over Raiding. I find it unfortunate that I have to be explicit in my clarification that I won't be playing Iron Banner because the gear from the Raid is better. I thought that implication was clear in the main body. EDIT 2: I'm going to post my reply to another player here because some people still seem unable to understand the point I am trying to make: The point of this article is not that I feel I deserve Raid gear the 2nd week of new DLC. My point is there is no reason for high level players to play Iron Banner this week because there is no Raid gear, and therefore, I'm going to RAID instead of playing Iron Banner. I'm calling into the question the usefulness of the event as whole to high level players, who Bungie has stated in the past they want playing Iron Banner. I'm not going to play Iron Banner if RAIDING is BETTER. Those who claimed to have read this article and took insult to it seem to think I am some sort of whiner who wants to get to 32 without raiding, when that is the exact opposite to the truth. I am looking for a reason to play Iron Banner OVER raiding. I hope that is clear now...
