Question to other dedicated Destiny Players
This is a question in regards to I wonder if I am the only one that something like this has happened to (which I hope not so I can figure this out) or if others have had this happen and have figured out a way to get passed the problem at hand.
I am a very dedicated player and play Destiny every single day for 3+ hours (gotta play around wife and son), I have all lvl 30 characters of diff. classes one of which is a lvl 31. I have played for hundreds of hours and plan on playing for a long time to come.
The problem that has been ongoing is that I have NEVER, and I mean NEVER, recieved a legendary rocket launcher via strike, nightfall, engram, or crucible. NOTHING in this game has EVER rewarded me with a legendary rocket launcher. My question to everyone is that has something similar to this happened to anyone else? I know there are those that haven't gotten many of something, but I have NEVER gotten a legendary rocket launcher and I know for a fact that this is something that isn't anywhere close to normal.
I don't think it is a coincidence because of the sheer amount I have played would have at least landed me AT LEAST 1 legendary rocket launcher at some point in time.
I have 3 Truth Rocket Launchers which I have had to buy every single one of them, and day before yesterday I used a Vanguard commendation to get a legendary so I could use it while having other exotics. I have let it slide up to this point because I have been able to get by with icebreaker, suros, and other high end weapons, but with the Crota fight using Rocket Launchers for quick damage I am stuck between a rock and a hard spot.
Can anyone shed any light or ideas that could help me in this situation. I plan on buying more legendaries, but that isn't all that easy anymore. I have done the raid from start to finish 50 times and have something like 153 Completions (reward completions I believe) and I haven't even gotten Hezen Vengeance (I think is what its called).
Anyone, please, let me know of anything I could do.

EDIT: I don't think it is an issue with RNG because even if I had the worst possible luck in the entire game, out of all the Heavy Engrams/Vanguard packages/Raid completions/etc etc I should have gotten AT LEAST 1 Legendary Rocket Launcher in some form....Everyone says it is RNG so I guess I will just never get Rocket Launchers unless I waste my points and commendations on them....This is BULL$H!T when I play as much as I do and do as many raids and other activites to not get ANY Launchers...I have even leveled up my damn Vanguard to rank 17 or 18 ><

I must have gotten all of yours. 3 different launchers, never do I get a HMG. Always launchers. Just got Admonisher III last night.

Yeah I had to buy most of my legendary and exotics. I see people in my fireteam getting icebreakers and I get shards

That's part of RNGeezus really. I got one drop right when I started beating hard mode raid. Then I got two hezen vengeance on the same time I beat gate keepers. Other than that I haven't received any either. But there are other things that drop for me faster than some. So it's kinda of a spectrum and it depends where you sit. I just now finally got hardlight and I have a buddy with 50 Vog completions last week and still no vex, and yet the vex was given to two of the guys who have 5-12 vexes.. so it really varies. I used to never get fusion rifles and am still sorta cursed. I've never been given pratorian foil or the calming or any of those. I did get purifier pre-expansion, also I've never been given the apos veil for warlock exotic helmet... and I want that one now but my hopes are low. And mind you I have 3 warlocks. So definitely does not want me to have that one. Conclusion: I think everyone has their kryptonite. .. The worst part is those people who can't get ice break or g-horn. It's hard to friend people who have neither one of those. Especialmente with the hard raid coming up. LaSarge over-n-out

I haven't got any void drops. Mostly solar and just a few arc. Kind of sucks because i'm working on Thorn with two rares.

I got 3 this week. I bought the vanguard one and the two others dropped from purple engrams.

1 ReplyOk first of all i feel your pain. Secondly, I do have a purple rocket launcher. It was a random drop and it is a future war cult variant with arc damage. Thirdly, I had a similar experience in a different way. I did countless bounties but for the first 2 months after launch I did not receive any exotic weapon bounty quests ... none. Finally, i made a thread under help and feedback and asked for someone to check if there is something wrong with my account. No replies. Two days later, thorn bounty dropped and soon another bounty dropped. Now I know that I'm not that lucky and I dont know if it was just a fluke. But I'm putting it out there.

4 RepliesYour situation is totally in realms of the possibility. It is totally possible for you to not EVER get a launcher to drop. Past rolls do not influence future outcomes. This is probability.

It does seem that certain drops happen way too much while others are elusive.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling. Very possible the game did not download 100% correctly and your chance for them is extremely low or non existent. This would explain why some people never get raid boots or gloves. Up until crota is only gotten one pair of boots across 3 characters over a span of at least 2 months of hard raid. That's 4 possible chances per character a week. 2 months is 96 chances for them but yet I've only gotten one pair and It was when I had 3 of the same characters the 2nd week

2 RepliesI have the same issue with Hezen Vengeance but overall I have gotten many Rocket Launchers, just not that one. RNG is all about luck.

2 RepliesIt's random luck. You're most likely to get one from a Vanguard legendary package or engram. Personally, I only use my exotic.

I never get any rewards for RNG, I've had to buy pretty much each legendary I have from Vanguard or FWC or get something from Xur.

I had to buy a steel Oracle a while back, but besides that i have only gotten legendary machine guns and exotic launchers. I was happy when I got the dragons breath yesterday from CE's first chest

Weird. I ONLY have luck with heavies. All other legendaries and exotics I've bought from Xur or vendors except for a few vog drops.

I am in the same boat, but with a different twist... My Hunter, hardly gets any primary drops. special and heavy out weigh primary 10 to 1

I only received one before the DLC dropped from leveling up vanguard rep... Not once from any drops... Machine guns yes...

Ive only got one auto rifle from raid the rest i bought...same with exoctics bought everyone except last word which i got yesterday...have close to 300 hrs between my warlock and titan...just rng man... Only gun i want and can never get is the suros

2 RepliesThat's very strange because I've gotten about 7 legendary engram drops from strikes/crucible and like 5 of them were all heavy. Still have the misfortune today. [spoiler]I play for about 3:30 hours a day[/spoiler]

Auto rifle, I've gotten one legendary and it sucked. The entire 3 and a bit months I've played I've only ever gotten one. Swimming in scout rifles and hand cannons though

2 RepliesI haven't run into your problem I've received both legendary and exotic rocket launchers. I think your woes are directly related to rng. Unfortunetly your number has yet to come up for those drops much like mine hasnt come up for ghorn yet.
