Stop Playing Until Final Expansion

I have to say I love this game I have put a great deal of time into it. I have 3 characters at 30 finally after weeks of raiding getting repeats of gear but not what I needed on 3 characters for any of them to hit 30. I can stuff my bank with Exotics alone and still have several in inventory. I have legendary of each damage type in each weapon type on all of them. Now it is all "near" worthless. I suffered through farming materials, although it was improved it still falls short. I am sorry to see that the game has replaced content with grinding to gain the sense of achievement. Sure the once a week raid provides some feeling of progress. The new story line was entertaining, I was not expecting a spinning of a massive yarn in a FPS. The issue I have is the expansion destroying way to many hours playing (ask my wife) to gain what I have only for me to now have to start over. If I had to only upgrade my exotics but keep the effort put into them that would have been fine or better yet since the price is so high to upgrade them to full. To pay then re-level and resource grind more to bring it up slightly higher than it's original glory? Sorry that is asking too much. I have enough grinding with bounties each day for baby steps in progress. I understand the "MMO" standard of resetting progress with a new expansion... BUT that usually happens once a year if not more, with several months of content to work through and often a couple raids that take a while to beat. Adding a couple story missions, strikes and a raid is not where I expected this to go. I honestly expected a new planet someplace new to explore new bounties for a new world. I do love the game, I have had a lot of fun and I know this sounds like a rant to some extent and it is a little. I just don't see the point in regrinding everything for the next expansion and likely another after that. It seems to me it would make sense with the direction they are going to wait until the last expansion and play then. It will give me a lot of content to play through and I don't have to worry about redoing my efforts in the process. I am still on the fence with this and waiting to upgrade my guns holding out hopes that someone will recognize grinding does not equal content. Getting the gear should be the achievement not rotating equipment when you turn in bounties to level stuff up and then farm glimmer and materials. I understand this is the first time this team has ventured into a bit of a cross over genre and there is a learning curve. The problem is when people don't incorporate the mistakes of the prior generations and build into something new, they just end up repeating the same mistakes. In many ways there has been progress it is well done in many areas and I enjoy a more refined means in which to play a MMOFPS with friends. There are a lot of things done right and I do think you listen to the community, I hope you still have your ears on and start making the changes fast before the world starts to empty out... EvolovE

  • Sorry didnt read that. Too long. Best to put this sort of thing into #feedback. Although it will just get buried in a minute because of the lack of moderation. I to have decided not to buy the DLC because of their decisions. GTA is fun. And there are plenty of game out there to spend 20 bucks on, having a ps3 if I havnt seen it, its news to me.
