Hello?.. Is this thing on!?

I wasn't as disappointed until I read this article on Polygon and I slowly realized this guy is dead on.. He's right. http://www.polygon.com/2014/12/15/7393695/destiny-dark-below-punishing-hardcore *Ahem; He does mention that this nosedive is recoverable.. HEED THIS. I just want to know, beyond patch notes, about what you did and what you're doing and why.. Why are these the decisions that are being made? If we had some insight as to the reasoning and any possible explanations that may clarify what seem to be just odd choices about all the new content and changes we might better understand and appreciate what is going on. Are you guys happy with all this? Is this working as intended? Are you trying to burn down the house and collect the insurance or what? Can someone please talk to us? Is this an "Every 3 months we start a new game scenario?" At least that makes sense, it's a bad idea but any explanation is better than this bewilderment. We thought the new vendor gear should outclass the old raid gear because; We thought the new raid gear shouldn't exceed the new vendor gear because; We though the Vault of Glass was best left behind as a low level encounter with no changes in rewards because; We thought the weapon/gear upgrade path needed changes because; We thought to add new forms of currency and new upgrade materials for the expansion because; We thought changing the stats on weapons would make them more viable but decided not to make the change retroactive and apply to already owned and upgraded versions because; BTW that last one, I was lazy and instead of working hard on my exotic bounties I let them linger in my inventory and all the other people in my clan who organized, played and upgraded them now have weaker weapons since I just got around to finishing my exotic bounties and have the new versions. No trip to Xur, no exotic shards needed. Great for me but very odd decision by you. It seems the less you played prior to TDB the better off you are as the less progress you lose or have to repeat with the added bonus of not having to dismantle your hardly earned and fully upgraded raid gear.. (That was actually very sad and painful). I like grinding, I call it playing but I like my time to have value. You took what we were proud of and made it cheap. Of course new raid gear should be better, that's the only gear that should have been better, it's additional content, not a new game.
