Legendary Dismantle

Why in the world did I only get 3 Hadronic Essence and NO ascendant shards when I dismantled a fully leveled piece of leg armor?! Frustrating... Is this common as of late since the update for anyone else?

Event items (queens wrath, iron banner) do not provide ascendant materials upon breakdown. This prevents players from farming those items during the event, for ascendants.
