So while playing the Dark Below, I thought "why the hell is Rasputins bunker here?". Then I began to notice small details.
The entrance is not built there but actually punched through the walls into the basement.
Then I noticed the whole place can be folded up, see here for full details:

I believe it can be folded up and moved around underground. What is a better defence than a bunker that can move to a new location? I think its fully autonomous too.
Do you think I am right?
Even in the golden age I figure this would have been a hell of a creation. What were they so afraid of that they would go to such extremes to build an AI that could relocate itself. Did the darkness take a while to move in on the solar system? or was humanity already fighting amongst itself at this point.
Big kudos to the level designer(s), alot of thought went into the creation of the area.
