Yes it is a(should be used as) support class (not a good enough one. I'd like to see group shield/health refill). Radiance has the perk to reduce team mate cool downs to further the support aspect. Or revive helps keep the team alive longer when all three perish. Or the selfish over shield. It also is really good at causing damage over time by using the ignite perk and the further damage enemies ignited. While radiance is active a solar elemental weapon will ignite enemies and cause damage over time!! Solar machine gun is a good investment. Not to mention sticky grenades! And the solar grenades paired with the exotic sun singer gauntlets puts on quite the show! :) I'm sure I've left things out. At work so can't look it up. These are just off the top of my head.
