Playing through Pokemon Y and Omega Ruby I came to realize that I felt like I was being handed the pokemon I need to beat the game. It used to be you got the starter and maybe you'd receive 1 Pokemon. In X & Y, not only do you get a Starter, you get a Charmander and a Lapras. You have Water, Ice, Fire and Flying, a Fossil Pokemon which can be a Dragon type. But Omega Ruby seemed to be just going to far. They hand you a legendary, you have the free shiny pokemon that evolves into Metagross. That was the best in my team. And there are points where it takes you straight to where you need to go so it speeds things up. And I'm not sure if I got lucky but I caught a Shiny Tentacool today, then later I caught a Rayquaza only needing 1 Ultra Ball, then pretty much right after that I am put right into a battle with Deoxys and caught that with 2 Ultra Balls. I remember taking around 200 Ultra Balls to catch Rayquaza in Pokemon Emerald. I know the general demographic for these games are kids but the games were more challenging on the older games. Kids must be getting retarded if they have to dumb the game down.
