A Lovely Wednesday Morning Vent Session

I know this has been discussed ad nauseam, but I'm pissed and want to vent...and this is as good of a place as any. I've known for a while that PS gamers are getting an extra strike and extra content with The Dark Below. That pissed me off for a good while...but I eventually got over it. Apparently, I've been living under that metaphorical rock for some time now as a buddy just made me aware of the Dust Palace strike. Here's a screenshot for those who would like to re-live that wonderful experience (some language NSFW): http://imgur.com/vUa3wMj Well that just reignited the hatred flames with the heat of a thousand radiant Sunsingers. So now we're talking about 2 exclusive strikes that won't be available to xbox gamers until the fall of 2015. For all of you calendar nerds out there...that's almost a full year and that's inexcusable. A few thoughts: 1. I get the exclusivity thing. Bungie is a business and they need to make money. I don't really even care about the gear, weapons, etc...that's just icing on the cake. But being locked out of 2 strikes (which is SIGNIFICANTLY LESS content), for a full year, while paying the exact same price is ridiculous. A couple of months?? Sure...that's easy enough to get over and it still gives incentive for people to consider playing it on PS. A year is a joke. 2. For all of you PS gamers that are going to come out and argue some form of "PS gamers were left out in the cold for years with Halo"...just don't. That's a completely different situation. Sure, it definitely sucked to not be able to play a marquee title without ponying up for an xbox. But you weren't getting less content while paying the same price for a product as a large portion of consumers. Console exclusives have been around forever. 2b. For those same gamers that will add some garbage in the form of "karma sucks", "your fault for getting an xbox", or some other elitist BS...go away. This hurts all gamers as this practice is now being utilized more often. Setting a precedent that a subset of consumers will get screwed out of content they are paying an equal price for is bad for everyone. 3. The biggest worry is that this cycle will never end. In November of 2015...is there going to be another set of content that xbox gamers will be locked out of until fall of 2016? Will it ever even up? In the end, it just blows my mind that this is an acceptable practice that will most likely continue. There really isn't any way to stop it...and I'm not going to stop playing Destiny because I truly do enjoy it. I just hope continual feedback like this will cause Bungie to think twice before employing similar practices in the future.
