To The Destiny Art Team or DeeJ..
I hope DeeJ or someone from the destiny art team sees this though I doubt they frequent the forums... Anyway I wanted to post to discuss the fact that all the Vault of Glass weapons, with the exception of the Myoclast, need a new a look in my opinion. Just being simple brown re-skins of the basic weapons is just unappealing. After watching the video "Developing the Dark Below", I was thrilled to get a glimpse of the new raid weapons and they looked pure badass. They look way more different then simple re-skins. I know the Destiny Art Team is a talented group and I know they can redesign the Vault of Glass weapons into much more esthetically appealing weapons. The only reason why I can see them as just being brown is because I'm guessing they are suppose to be made from the Vex themselves but meh, you guys can do better then that! DeeJ if you like the idea please relay it to the art devs!

1 ReplyThe thing that stands out the most for me are the ships. I got the ship from Crota's End and it actually looks unique. But the ships you get from the Vault of Glass are generic; made of the same parts as other ships. They have no Vex-like or Vault-like qualities at all. Even the weapons had some slight hint to them. When I heard the name "Aspect of Glass" I imagined a ship that had a crystalline sheen to it, or reflected light like the surface was made of flat, angular panes of glass. Something inspired by Atheon's chamber.

1 ReplyI agree. Most of them are just shit-brown with a few red lights on them. Also, Plan C looks like it was supposed to be a raid weapon. And it looks a hell of a lot cooler than any of the actual raid weapons.

4 RepliesThis is a great topic btw, I was just standing there yesterday waiting on the teleport staring at my VoC thinking, "God damn is this an ugly gun." I think I will post on this later on as well to see if we can build up some steam on this and direct it at DeeJ.

3 RepliesI don't think the Vex, with their evil plans to spread the Darkness and distort time, care much about the aesthetic design of their weapons. I am not trying to be a smart ass here. I am just pointing out that maybe the art team made the guns look drab on purpose. For the Vex, it's all about function, not fashion. Guns may not look sexy but they pack a punch.

1 ReplyCompare the raid weapons to the others, they aren't recolours, slight variations in curves. There is a difference, although the extremely slight.
