Thread 2: Things that should be added to Destiny

I was pleased to see one thing on the list from the last thread I made was actually added in-game. Here's some previous suggestions and more: Weapons and Armor: - Create items such as "Legendary Sniper Rifle/Scout Rifle/Machine Gun etc. Part" and "Legendary Titan/Hunter/Warlock Armor Part" that you can use to purchase any weapon/armor of that type in the tower - make the drop rates the same as legendary engrams - Let us re-roll perks from our guns/armor via vendors for glimmer/motes/whatever (Gunsmith/New Armorsmith) - I didn't use the iron banner feature for this but I know it existed. If this was implemented we wouldn't be disappointed with a cool looking gun with perks we don't want. - When dismantling weapons and armor give us more of our materials back - A legendary gun with no upgrades still gets 3 or so energies and a few weapon parts back, but dismantling a fully upgraded legendary weapon could give us 6-18 energies, 16-48 upgrade materials (that we used) and a few more weapon parts back. Customization: - A transmogrification/transmute armor+weapons system. We all look the same at high levels and this happens in every game that doesn't have a system similar to WoW/D3/GW2's armor disguise system. - Allow us to apply shaders to our guns and spaceships. (Allow one shader to be applied to multiple items to compensate). - A barbershop (and beards) to change our hair styles. Add a plastic surgeon to change our appearance. - Allow us to play with helmets hidden. Tower: - As we reach 2000+ Plasteel Plating/Hardonic Essence/Sapphire Wire and Weapon Parts we can't hope to have enough armor/weapons to use them all - let us redeem them for rep from all faction vendors (not just the Vanguard and Crucible) just like planetary upgrade materials. They are upgrade materials too, they should get similar treatment to planetary specific materials. - Make the tower more lively - NPCs walking around, the tower to generally be opened up A LOT more. - Add a vendor to the tower for raid gear - pay for the items with tokens that drop from bosses in raids. Strikes: - Add chest spawn locations within strikes - I've see one in the Sepiks Prime room but I'm not sure if there are more. - Guaranteed rare engram drops off bosses and mini bosses. Crucible: - Capture the flag. - Juggernaut-like game type (could use the sword of Crota or something similar). - Sparrow Races. - Spaceship battles and races - give us something to do with our ships. - Removal of rotational playlists to make them permanent - in a game with only 4 concrete game types there is no reason to have rotationals. - Horde mode - Myself and I'm sure others would love to get rewarded for killing waves upon waves of increasingly difficult enemies. General: - Let us pick the difficulties for patrols - encounter players that choose the same difficulty. - Events that aren't just about doing bounties - events with actual new content. - List of all reputations we have in a menu. - In-game library to view grimoire cards. - Player trading system. - Let us pick our spawn location via settings (Tower/Earth/Moon/Venus/Mars/Hopefully more areas). - More planets and open areas were cut from the game due to company drama and time constraints - now's your chance to add them in. - Have exotic bounties have their own "Special Bounties" tab so they don't take the room that could be used for regular bounties. - A map and mini-map when on planets. What do you think should be in the game?

  • Maybe every month or so a public event at the tower where maybe some fallen attack and all vendors become unavailable and the vanguards run out and are fighting the fallen with you and other gaurdians

  • It'd be cool to have another PvE gamemode that allows you to have up to six players. Even maybe in patrol sometimes (maybe in more difficult areas). Quite often, I have atleast 3 other friends online and it's always awkward to have to split up when we all want to play something together other than crucible.

  • Possibility to have a Fireteam with 4 members. Right now I can follow my partner and his friends to the respawn restricted area if im lucky enough to get into the same copy of the world as them, then i have 2 sit and watch them have fun or do patrols until they come out.

    • A map editor. Be surprised how much the community can do for a game.

A way to make older legendaries and exotic competitive in higher level activities. This will open more customization, and allow people to keep their favourite stuff that may never get a newer equivalent. It'll also add more activity to the game, as you'd likely have to do something in order to make your favourite gear scale. Could be it's own quest even, or another use for Strange Coins, or create a new matt required, possible obtained from new raid, to upgrade the old stuff.

    • Rich cinematic storytelling. Intros for enemy factions with cutscenes. Cabal destroying a planet or Vex doing their hidden agenda. Main character that doesnt have ass one liners. More depth to world. Add more visual things to the world. Like the fallen and hive fighting each other but not just cannon fodder shooting each other forever. Not -blam!-ing lie pre launch about what will be in the final product.

    • Basic game audio controls would be great so I can turn off the music or turn up the in game chat. I mean come on that simple thing has been around in video games since the 90's

      • I'd say add more incentive to crucible. If you can, make a rating system and also host some type of tournaments in crucible to be rewarded with items.

            •
This thread is inspired by another: view original post 87 GhilKlinWar GhilKlinWar Edited: Nov 13 at 9:40:07 PM This topic is going to deviate from my others in that this one cannot be presented so as to take advantage of current programming which means that it would in almost all cases have to come as a DLC or in Destiny 2, however, it was among my list of things to present and has become a favored topic of conversation among those I run with, so I will bring it to light for the rest of you to contemplate, offer additional ideas and comments as well. I hope you enjoy! Currently our little companions serve little purpose other than to operate devices and return us to life when we are alone, to offer inane comments that appear to be unaware of current situations, or to transport us into and out of our ships. This project takes them towards a level of inclusion that makes them not only invaluable, but in some cases a cool partner to have around. None of the naming conventions or effect details presented are to be interpreted as the only or best way to do as they may suggest, but are here for ease in comprehension of an idea, or to generate other thoughts based on the examples provided. As with my other topics I will not get into conversations about the details, but will gladly communicate on replies that are based on the idea behind the subject. So let’s begin. FIrst let me explain how you would get one of these new Ghost templates. These would be random drops at the end of a new raid or event, the subject of which would be locating and gaining control of the first Ghost and its programs. Eventually I will give this raid the depth of description it deserves, but for now, and for sake of space I will only outline it. Once you complete the raid you will be, or have a chance to be, awarded one of several Ghost templates from the list below, in time you could collect and choose to use any template in your inventory. The template is what will contain the programming key for the perks and tools that are presented in each. As an aside, in addition to these templates dropping, there would also be a chance to gain a new ghost shell to alter your ghost’s appearance, but that too will be detailed later. Edit: Thanks for all the messages asking about this raid. (Along with all the likes for the topic) I should have the raid ready to post this weekend, possibly along with the next one in the series Clans Expanded. Ghost Templates: Accessing your Ghost's templates is done by (for example) holding down the L3 button. Only one template can be in effect. The benefits of a template are removed when that template is overwritten by any other. Templates that have active perks (those that provide an in-game buff or effect) have a cool down period following usage to maintain balance. Those that offer UI or secondary screen for options or customization follow the same rules as accessing your inventory screen. Those that have more passive effects can be toggled on or off. These may not be noted in each entry, but should be understood as implied as appropriate to maintain balance and continuity. When possible some of these templates could be upgradable, allowing them to be improved as the Guardian and Ghost gain levels to maintain a measure of improving quality. SitRep Ghost: This template allows you to access current data on your combat scores. Similar to, if not actually linked in with, the DestinyTracker information that is currently available to us. In effect a small window would appear in one corner of the screen and display pertinent information on your scoring for both PVE and PvP scenarios. Sonar Ghost: This ghost would provide an audible cue whenever an enemy is closing in on you which is not directly ahead of you. Something akin to the motion tracker sounds many of us are familiar with. Some people have mentioned adding in vocal responses “watch your back”, “we have movement on the left”, but this might be a little more coding than can be done easily and could become just as annoying as the ever present and immutable music. iGhost: Does anyone remember the Live Action Trailer “Give me something classical”? This ghost can access your consoles music playlist (ie: Wipeout) and provide an alternative to the current score or help set the mood for you when you’re up to your arse in waves of enemies and would like something inspiring to listen to. Salvage Ghost: This template adds small icons or indicators to your mini-map to indicate the location of recoverable materials (Spinmetal, etc.) and actually aids in their acquisition by providing a boost to what you get from them. Vanity Ghost: Accessing this ghost lets you (by virtue of a slider or selection tool) alter the colors, tones and tints of your current gear. This Ghost also lets you salvage gear you find for the style, destroying the piece and creating a library of gear/weapon styles that can be used to replace the current style of the gear you are using without replacing the stats. The Ghost's style library can be increased (in sets of 5, to 25 max for example) to accommodate more styles by leveling it up - Style addition to this suggested by Danorak Cartographer Ghost: This helpful fellow opens up a map for the region you are in (fog of war in effect – you can only see what you have already explored) when accessed. It might also contain information on specific locations (tags) that you have already cleared. Munitions Ghost: These handy little buggers allow you to carry more ammunition for your weapons and or influence drops of ammunition from opponents. The ammo packs would be usable thru a D-Pad function - as suggested by Afgncaap7 Medic Ghost: This ghost template provides a boost to your healing when you are at 15% health even when under fire. It cannot maintain this for long and requires a period of time (cooldown) before it can assist you again. It starts out healing you, but upon leveling it adds another (nearest) player and at each new level adds another (next nearest) until it can cover a Raid team of six players. The healing could have a "max" amount that is thinned down the more guardians it is assisting, and of course would have the usual cool-down period of the others in its class. - group healing suggested by xRIPKILLERx Archivist Ghost: In-game access to the Grimoire cards is accomplished with this template as splash screens of cards can be read through its connection to your library. Social Template: Want to give a thumbs up, appear to operate a keyboard, shake your head yes or no, motion someone over to you? This template opens up a tree of selectable e-motes for you to use. Other suggestions: Countermeasures Ghost: This unit serves as a countermeasure to the Sonar Ghost template listed above, effectively masking the player from the sonar ghost's awareness and allowing a stealthy approach to the target. - Lancer_206 Combat Support Ghost: This battlefield enhanced unit can emit an EMP burst that disrupts the shielding of enemy targets that are adjacent to it. If the Guardian activate the ghost it will disrupt the shields that are within its proximity. However the unit cannot sustain combat and once used requires a period of time to recharge its internal battery. - Raven1Fist Template Upgrades/Leveling: Once an offensive or defensive template has been acquired it contains an upgrade path similar to that found in the current gear and weapons allowing a player to unlock even more advanced perks. These perks might also include slight increases to the Guardians ability score. However this upgrade path requires the possession of a specific piece to complete it (similar to the helium/spinmetal/etc only in a singular form) that is usually found as a reward (drop) or purchased from Xur using the same currency as his other wares. - slickpulla334 Chameleon Ghost This sneaky shell once activated alters the appearance of the guardian to blend in with the landscape, providing a pseudo-invisibility as long as the guardian remains still (or at least is not seen moving) and is facing his enemy. The ghost projects onto the guardian a duplication of the image behind him. This has a disturbing effect when viewed from the sides, and is most effective from the front. The effect once activated lasts for several minutes and requires a cool-down to reactivate it - withheld by request GoW [God of War] Ghost This battle hardened companion adds a random 5-15% damage boost to your selected weapon when fired from the hip, as well as a slight increase to your Melee speed. The GoW Ghost requires the typical cool-down once activated - Suggested by yG6ll7 The list could go on and on, but I think most of your not only get the idea, but have also come up with at least one or two templates of your own by now. The key here is for them not to provide anything that would unbalance the game, but instead that makes them a useful and intuitive tool to open up areas or functions that might otherwise be done but without the immersion this offers. • 1.)Make it so we can craft armor, weapons, sparrows, ships, etc., like warframe, which had a lot of materials which would drop based on what enemy you killed on what planet. 2.) reduce the amount of tower lobbies there are so more people are in them-makes the tower look much more like the bustling haven it's supposed to be 3.)more vendors 4.) events actually having some impact on the worlds. Ex: x number of events were completed at y worlds, so the vex have been temporarily driven back. Anyways, bump

How to make gunsmith useful! Pros of gunsmith: 1) help out with exotic bounties 2) give (free) starter guns 3) heavy ammo synthesis However, crucible/vanguard master could easily do this things too. What the community wants: We the destiny community need easier time obtaining materials (such as Helium Filaments, Relic Iron, Spinmetal, and Spirit Bloom) for upgrade weapons and armors. (Even you said that "We want to see more people on the tower!") Therefore, the gunsmith should sell these materials to upgrade our stuff. How to balance the supply of materials: The gunsmith should be able to sell only one of these materials at a time. And it is randomly changed every 3 hours. And the cost of it should be high (but not too high). Maybe 50 materials for one strange coin, 70 for one mote of light, or 35 for 1500 glimmer. Furthermore, you could make the currency used to purchase these materials randomized (too keep things interesting) or (even better) make the price random (to an extended)! This way the players will think twice before purchasing the materials. They will always wonder could there be a better deal in the next 3 hours. Further explanation for noobs: random material:
(ex. Helium Filaments, next 3 hours: Spinmetal, next 3 hours: Relic Iron, next 3: hours Spinmetal, next 3 hours: Spirit Bloom
Random price
50 materials for one strange coin, next 3 hours: 70 for one mote of light, next 3 hours: 50 materials for one strange coin, next 3 hours: 35 for 1500 glimmer
Randomized price
45 materials for one strange coin, next 3 hours: 65 for one mote of light, next 3 hours: 70 materials for 2 strange coin
I would like to see two things, No error codes and I would LOVE to see that our armor be moved over from destiny "one" over to destiny "two". Call it Veterans armor if nothing else, cuss I love the armor I have now, and would like to carry it though with me. Sorry third thing, I hate finishing first with a KD of 4.5 in pvp and getting nothing; wail the lvl 19 at the bottom of the team with a .54KD gets an legendary engram. Same with raids, I get the 2nd most kills (225 or so) on the hard raid this last Thursday, and get 3 shards and energies! I have done the raid on hard say 5 times, finished 3 times, and those 3 times I had finished, all three, 2 raid helmets and a ship. I have yet to see any armor that does not go on the head from the raid, infact just this Thursday, I had finished a seconded titan and taken him in for a second go, and got for the first time, fate-bringer, atheons epilogue, the timepiece, and corrective measure, and found verdict, before then, I had the sniper rifle 3 times, and the bazooka once. That's 3 times ive finished on hard, and countless number of times on normal. now that I read all of this its pretty wordy. that's my rant,. Bungie if you see this, PLZ fix the stupid random rewards thing its just dumb. Now Bungie, don't think I am hating, I have played ever halo you guys made. I am rather disappointed by the lack of planning on your part. I was expecting this to be more, IDK achievement based like Halo. Say to get a piece of armor in halo you had to do some ridicules thing to get it, and it was a badge of honor, but here in destiny the only armor that one can be proud of is iron banner, and the raid helmet. I seriously would like to see some armor that will be given to those who complete ridicules feats.
