You Don't Understand Exotics

I don't think people understand what exotics are in Destiny. You assume exotic means: super rare drop. Destiny defines exotics as: armor and weapons that contain unique perks that allow further character customization. The reason this is hard to grasp is because Bungie needs to create a new color for "raid gear" which is different from other legendaries. Do the tiers talk about drop rates? Yes, but not to the degree that you expected. People need to understand what Bungie means by exotic so this community can move on.

+1 All this talk about exotics, but people don't seem to realize that it isn't synonymous with unique or mythic or whatever. Exotic arms and armor are of a strange or foreign design, origin and purpose and are used to accentuate playstyles and switch up how you play the game. I implore anyone who thinks exotics aren't living up their name to find a definition of the word and then look at most of the exotics in the game. There is a reason legendaries seem to outclass exotics in a lot of ways, and that's because the exotic tier was never meant to always be objectively better.
