  • Destiny may not of been that broken, but it definitely was not a full game. Broken or not, love it or hate it, lets look at the facts. Something happened with Destiny that made it stray. 1) People in high authority places over Destiny's story left in the last year of development. 2) The game is not just slightly different from videos that were shown only a year before release, it's almost another game entirely. 3) Grimoire cards were created within the last 7 months before Destiny's release. 4) The story has little to no context. 5) Things lack even the most basic of explanations, with only "we can't even tell you why we can't tell you" as the answer. 6) The zones for all this "new" dlc was finished and on even the alpha. Or at least the geometry for the zones and most of the textures were. All they needed was enemies and since they're just going to be copy and paste of the same enemies that already exist(ed) then it points to 4 answers. a) There used to be something there from a story line that got cut/edited/revised too close to release and they needed time to create a new context for these zones. (which makes the most sense because bungie has already stated that they just finished the Dark Below and is still working on the House of Wolfs) b) Bungie actually did cut this from the final product to just sell to us later (as upset as I am, I don't believe this is the case. But if the first one is true they we should not be paying this dlc at all.) c) Bungie worked for 6+ years to make Destiny and launched with everything they had; including zones/maps they had no content for knowing they would utilize it later with paid dlc, and truly thought they hit the nail on the head with the game. (this is the least likely and honestly most depressing....) d) Bungie either made or tried to make something truly new and amazing and either by contractual problems, or just the scale they wanted truly being out of reach, had to make sacrifices within the game and are trying their best to correct their mistakes. (If this is the correct one, only time will tell.) I just wish Bungie would give us a straight answer instead of "Destiny is an amazing game that we love to play everyday and we don't see the problem in this repetition you speak of". How about "we understand our fans disappointment, but due to [insert even a vague reason... I'd be happy as long as it was true...] we could not meet our expectations, and we are working to improve Destiny." The foundation for a truly amazing game is here. It's just buried under repetitive nonsense.
